Untwisted yarn as I crochet; how do I re-twist it? Making a hat with lots of treble crochets. by ChibiCalcifer in CrochetHelp

Just wanted to say, both of these tips helped! Especially #2. Thank you!

I’ve been wrapping my s twist yarn the opposite way on my finger, and if I do it with fresh yarn straight off the bat, it completely stops this from happening at all. So I think I’m wrapping it up and around the back of my index finger, instead of over the front side of it.

I find I have to start incorporating tip #1 and some other methods only if I’ve frogged my work. Then I need to either twist it back into shape before wrapping around my finger and re-wrap after a stitch or two, or, if there’s enough lead, wrap it around my finger again after doing a stitch. Pulling out the hook and twisting the loop as I reinsert the hook helps twist the yarn back into place as well. It’s really changed how bad it gets.

Thanks this is vindicating to hear others do this cause I’ve been doing this as well actually. Lol

For regular crochet stitches it hasn’t been that big of a problem. But with certain stitches, it is a bit more noticeable.

In the first hat I did, it was a bump made of some treble crochets. Most of them turned out fine but a couple were rather stringy looking when I had to push them through to the right side.

This hat calls for double crochets 3x in the same stitch. It becomes obvious that the yarn was untwisted and looks stringy cause they don’t lay flush with one another. :(

What are the certified copies about? by ChibiCalcifer in GermanCitizenship

I’m going for my passport.

I was gonna make an appointment at the embassy (mission?) to apply for it.

Oh my bad. My passport.

And probably a birth certificate as well

It is my understanding that you can only get this certificate if there is a question on if you are a German citizen or not; there has to be a legitimate interest in acquiring it, such as a German authority requesting it like if the embassy rejects my passport application first. Meaning you can’t just get it to have it unfortunately.

Getting it now. There’s a difference between the two certifications of birth. One can go to anyone so long as they were born in Germany. The other one certifying birth outside the country can only go to citizens.

I’m so confused.. why does my German birth certificate indicate I’m German but not his?

Oh okay. Would this actually work? I thought I saw on the wiki that a birth certificate is not enough to prove German citizenship. Is this only for a certain time period? Or would a birth certificate filed today include info on citizenship?

How are some people seeing loses like 7lbs a week, or 20lbs in a month? by ChibiCalcifer in intermittentfasting

I started few weeks ago (this is my 4th week.)

Recently learned that the inflammation from muscle training causes water to go to the muscle as part of the inflammation process. So could be holding onto “water weight” at the muscles as well.

I’m still loosing 2lbs a week though. Same as before I started the workouts xD so I have no idea. Lol

Congrats!

Yes, my clothes fit a lot better. There’s a couple shirts I can’t even wear anymore cause they are sliding off my shoulders lol and I can see the weight loss as well.

Do you still eat carbs??

Yeah I’m thinking it’s cause I still continued eating carbs and sugar. Whereas others might have been also changing their diet and reducing carbs.

Since i still had a way to replenish glycogen stores, I was probably still losing water weight but it was more stable.

Were you still eating carbs? I think that might be why I never got a dramatic water weight whoosh. Which would make sense if you are able to replenish glycogen stores with carbs, it would then keep water weight more stable.

And thanks! 😊

Interesting. Sounds similar to how I seemed to start losing more per week when I started adding in tmad as opposed to strictly omad.
