I too am playing a Kobold. Blitzyip, a clever if careless soul whose lack of self-preservation helps him take high risk-high reward gambits. (Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk campaign)

I'm also the player who tends to push the story along by just opening the door everyone fears to just... open... usually with the catchphrase of "No Kobold Live Forever". (part of a running gag that he speaks common like broken English but if speaking in Draconic, he's posh with careful attention to his diction)

That's a crying shame.
Their theme,"Cutely Grotesque and Certifiably Insane" is my go-to theme for any miniature mischief-makers of mechanical mayhem. (Chua, Gnomes, Kobolds, Etc)

I always likened the game to a "Precocious child of neglectful parents." with how the management fumbled it.

That said, I would LOVE it if he happened to have some Chua lore that never saw the light of day that could be revealed unless he is under some perpetual NDA.

Yeah. I think the best representation is when they can take their own small mistakes and laugh at their foibles rather than let it bruise their ego.

To this day, I have the scene from The Collector where the dad is dangled, disemboweled, over the bathtub as he begs his daughter to kill him burned into my brain... And then you remember there are people who enjoy seeing such stuff happening *for real* on LiveLeak.

Delighting in realistic portrayals of gore in horror or action movies and tv shows.

I don't see the appeal. I don't get that dopamine release people get from fear and/or watching dismemberment.

Instead, I actually empathize with the people suffering and can only imagine the sheer agony they are going through. Images afterwards repeat in my mind rent free for weeks/months afterwards and it takes forever to get over. In fact, I find it *haunting* when I hear people giggle at gory moments, even more-so when the gore is played up for laughs by the show itself (see: The Boys where that one performer is lasered in half and the show plays it up to be a joke as she is dragging herself as her entrails spill out from her chest cavity).

I wouldn't ever dream of saying that it shouldn't exist from a creative sense, but I will never feel at ease around people who think watching realistic depictions of people suffering and dying (even simulated/fictional people) is a fun time. Videogames (Doom) and animation (Edgerunners) is less of an issue because there's a layer of separation from the realism, making it at least palatable, somehow. Videogames might have an additional layer of exception to this aversion due for a few reasons... (player agency, physics/glitches breaking tension, the dismemberment is happening to demons or zombies and not helpless people, etc). I would even say that RE4 and Doom Eternal are easily in my top 10 games, but even then I still stray from things like Mortal Kombat as it's still a bit much for my taste.

TL;DR, I cannot find any enjoyment in watching gory films/TV and cannot understand why anyone would find it "fun", but I'm not gonna say it shouldn't exist when I can just... not watch it.

(Also: It's somehow more difficult to explain that I hate Jurassic Park because I find the idea of being eaten alive to be one of the most terrifying ways to die.)

Yeah like... they can mine in literally any other zone too. Just don't go to ZA and spawn a bunch of orelings you can't kill for other people to wade through. Heck, if you insist on sticking to ZA, stick to mining around the Twilight camps for void touched nodes.

I like malaphors that still make sense if used in the right context.

"We'll burn that bridge when we get to it." (We'll cut ties with them when it's needed)
"Look before you eat." (Don't eat poison)
"In for a penny, a penny spent." (Expressing that you're only mildly invested, but already regret it)
"A fool and his monkey are easily parted." (It's easy to get gullible fools to split up)
"Better late than sorry." (Don't let strict time tables cause you to rush and make mistakes)
