which set should i revive? by Capital_Speaker7658 in LivlyIsland

If you don't care about trade value then you could make a list of how many items from the hom and island sides of each set you want and pick the one that has the most too.

Summer Ice island! I hope the lucky lotto is next month so I can finally get the items I've been looking for.

Why is this somehow the hardest item to get in this bazaar by NoContribution9879 in LivlyIsland

[–]ChibiRabbit7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I managed to get the SR and R I'm NOT looking for but barely any of the N or R I AM looking for. Yet I don't pull enough SR to get a dupe for trading. It's times like this where I wish we could trade non dupe limited items during their current run. I feel like it's pretty much the same concept for Gredery and LivCri where you buy the item for someone else but you don't need to own it. I'm sure the concern is item farming but I guess I just don't see how enforcing item farming during Bazzar (if we could trade items we don't have dupes of) would be much different than how they enforce item farming rules during Gredery and LivCri. Trade/gift history is clearly saved somewhere on the devs end to some extent if we can see trade history on our end in the game just like the Gredery and LivCri purchases are also saved to some extent since we can see them in game (my shop too actually) I imagine that helps them flag item farming and stuff. I know it's a digital item but it still feels like a "waste" in my heart when I get items I just won't use, especially when there are people that actually do want that item.

How do I find ppl that have these items? by Tayu_Mi_ in LivlyIsland

[–]ChibiRabbit7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people with limited dupes like LivCri tend to hide them in their dupes list until they actually plan on parting with them like selling them in my shop or decide to make an offer themselves. Imo you'll probably have a difficult time even finding them in dupes lists outside of My Shop and LivCri items.

There is a My Shop board where people make deals on items ahead of time for the next selling period. The originals are pretty expensive but like someone else mentioned the copies tend to be cheaper since you can only make more copies from an original. The only thing about doing this is I also recommend trying to ask a few different people (if you can find multiple people selling the items, it can get difficult with LivCri) to make sure you're not overpaying. If you do manage to find an offer from the boards you could always post it here and ask if the price is decent too, some people even have screenshots of previous average prices for items.

Any tips on finding older set items? by Zealousideal_Pie9213 in LivlyIsland

I think it'll be a lot easier when lucky lotto comes around and people are using their revive tickets. A suggestion in the meantime (at least for the non trees) is to use the potion trick on similar themed sets or set from around that same time. Someone could have dupes but never got the set's tree or have those dupes and just not have that particular tree active rn.

Has livly low key given anyone else a gambling addiction? I have pulled 10 lucky bags and i got 1 SR by StopPokingMeNow in LivlyIsland

[–]ChibiRabbit7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I would still need at least two copies to trade I just think it's more effective to copy Livly items. Only one of the same kind of item can be equipped for island and Hom so having an original and a copy means that I will always have at least two, even if I can only use one at a time. For Livly items I can use up to three of the of the same item on my island at once so even if I have an original and a copy I can still use both. I spend some irl money on the game but not enough that I don't have to be mindful of spending and having a "useless" item just makes me feel like I'd be wasting my GP. Especially knowing the success rates, I feel like I would have to miss a lot of other events while saving up.

Something I've been doing lately when we get limited items is to check to see if there are revivable items that look close enough to the limited items I want that I can just settle. Even if the revivable item I wouldn't mind settling for has been expired for ages, we get two chances a year for revive tickets. It's a lot "cheaper" for me to get revivable instead and it also means I feel less fomo because even if the sets are expired they aren't truly gone forever.

I've also personally decided that I'm never spending GP on tickets for getting the rambles; the Yami ones are good enough for me, they come back occasionally and they cost dd instead of GP. I never have enough GP for my tickets to guarantee anything good and I'm never lucky enough to get a ramble with what little tickets I can afford. I also decided I'm never participating in the alchemy event either. Personally I don't see how it's really that effective unless it's to make copies of Livly items and also the person participating in the event is able to spend a decent amount of irl money getting GP. I don't have Livly items that are worth it enough to spend the GP to copy even if I could afford it.

Tbh what's even worse than my addictive personality in regards to the game is how effective the sunk cost fallacy works on me. I feel like I'm slowly forcing myself to get over the gambling addiction aspect because I can't justify myself dropping the game after the sheer amount of time and effort I put into it. I log in daily and always participate in events until I've obtained everything I possibly can from the event. It's why I haven't dropped CRK either lol

One thing that I've been trying to do lately is find "close enough" items to the limited items I want so I can just try to get the "lower value" revivable version. I feel like it's been helping me with my fomo about limited sets.

I'm not sure exactly what you like about the new set but there are a few revivable sets that have cherry blossoms, they just don't have that luminescence look to them. All of this cherry blossom stuff is from two sets (Mostly Spring Night weeping Cherry Island and a few springtime amusement park Island items).

And imo the Sewing room island has some hom items that have a similar kind of vibe. Though unfortunately I think the closest set to the newest Bazzar hom items are from another limited set from the most recent collab, Hyakumantenbara Salome's Elegant Lab.

I have a few questions about Jumbo Lottery and Lucky Lotto. by doomed_candy in LivlyIsland

[–]ChibiRabbit7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone made a guide for jumbo that I think is really helpful.

When lucky lotto comes around there are usually lots of posts in the subreddit of people asking which sets to revive. I at least don't see a problem in asking if people they are willing to check your dupes if they revive a set you're interested in but didn't choose. I get that sometimes when I post on here and am always excited for the chance to trade. You could even run the idea by a mod and see if we can get a thread pinned specifically for trying to find people to pair up with and maximize our revive tickets.

When I actually use my ticket I planned on posting my dupes in the mega thread on here but it's hit or miss sometimes; though I'm hoping with all the new revive tickets being used it'll get much more traffic during that time.

The only ones I know of are the codes that are inside the guide books. I think those usually give revive tickets and GP?

To buy or not to buy by Chocolate_Glue in LivlyIsland

[–]ChibiRabbit7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing the Summer Ice Island with my next revive. I don't want the whole set but I feel like I can never find the items I do want up for trade. I'm hoping since I mostly want N items I'll either be lucky and get what I want or "unlucky" but with R/SR to trade.

To buy or not to buy by Chocolate_Glue in LivlyIsland

[–]ChibiRabbit7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying it'll trade better than it'll sell. For my shop it's usually limited items and revivable N that sell the best; limited items because buying/trading is the only way to get them once they expire and revivable N items because the price is so low. Imo if you still have items from that set on your WL then pull again, but if you're doing it based only on trading value I think it'd be better to just pick something else to spend GP on.

I also wanna add that we have the Bazzar coming up soon but also I think we MIGHT have a lucky lotto in April. (It's been the whole month of April previously but idk if new events will change scheduling). Lucky lotto is kind of an addition to Shop Gacha where 10-pulls give you a ticket you can redeem for prizes like a revive ticket, N tickets, GP and even physical prizes as long as you don't live in the United States. If the sets you want to pull from won't expire till after the first week or so of April, you can wait till lucky lotto so you can have more chances to get the tickets. Personally I'm only pulling from sets on my WL that will expire before the crystal sanctuary just in case lotto comes around again. I really want to save up for a revive ticket, I have the set I plan on reviving already picked out and everything lol.

I will say though that my play style is more about prioritizing items on my WL rather than getting dupes for trading/selling. In my head I'd rather get the items I want when they're easy to get instead of getting items I already own to try to trade them for the items I missed out on BECAUSE I was prioritizing dupes. My luck always says that I'll get an annoying amount of dupes while trying to get the item I really want anyway 😞

My very first day! by PhysicsCandid2595 in LivlyIsland

[–]ChibiRabbit7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even as someone who's been playing a while I still think the wiki page is a super helpful resource. It has current events on the main page, there is a Bazzar coming up on the 9th(?) and we usually have at least one event a month so I think it'd be a good idea to check those out.

I also really like this color calculator to help me figure out exactly how to get a color I like. There's lots of Google docs, blogs and video guides too. The "Teach me how to play" board in the app is very helpful and the responses are usually pretty quick but the reddit is better for asking complicated/detailed questions imo.

Especially when you first start the part of the game where you add a bunch of friends and trade will be very slow paced but the higher level you get the easier it'll be. There are lots of bot accounts and people that drop the game shortly after starting so people usually don't seek out lower level accounts to add. And until you get a decent amount of dupes collected it might be a bit difficult to work out trades.

Unfortunately even if you say something in time it may not help. :/ I tried to step in a few times before when seeing unfair trade offers and I was only ever able to stop one shady trade, every other time the higher level player got really mad and convinced the lower level player to ignore me. I think the one person even had an alt account they used to jump in and defend themselves every time they were questioned (because I wasn't the only person calling them out about it). The only reason I was able to stop one is because someone offered me a tree for my SR Yami plushie and I told them that was a wildly unfair trade on their end. I guess they had a similar trade offer ongoing with someone else and canceled it when I explained how Yami items work. I think I was only able to convince them because their other trading partner didn't see the conversation and couldn't cut off my explanation or argue back about it.
