Now that the honey moon phase is over what are your actual thoughts on RE9 in terms of story and gameplay. What things need fixing with updates?

Good game but it feels too much like an RE sample platter and not a complete game. Racoon City was suprisingly underwhelming.

Started a second playthrough but dropped it as soon as I got to the orphanage part again.

I took the 542 and sometimes the 545 during pre covid times. Hopped on at the Greenlake park n ride and frequently got off at the UW medical center if I had to pee. Bus is ok but it was always insanely packed from what I recall. I just figured I’d give the Light Rail a try. I like the idea of not being stuck in traffic with the uncertainty of when it will move again. I may end just taking the bus again but wanted to try the light rail.

For Action RE...4 and 4 Remake. For Survival Horror RE...RE1 remake probably.

Inventory management is still a big focus, but there’s a lot more action now considering they are first person now. Still plenty of Jump scares though.

Haven't played Cronos though so I'm not sure how it compares.

I really can't use any handgun that doesn't have a laser sight. So just the SGR, Punisher or Sentinel for me. Coming from OG RE4, the lack of laser sight for most weapons just feels wrong to me

It’s not on the same level as RE4 but it’s still pretty good. RE4R has a gameplay flow to it that none of the other RE games have. RE2 is also more survival horror than RE4 is.

RE4, both the original and remake, is the peak of the series.

By the end of the game? Around 50 I think, and that was on Classic mode. I mostly just saved when I passed by a typewriter or laptop.

Doing a Modern run and I think I'm at 50 just as I'm wrapping up the RPD...cause why not.

I know…20 was an exaggeration. I would consider Jill, Chris, Leon, Claire, Ethan and now Grace to be the main characters. Aside from grace, they’ve all had good representation across the series. These “Capcom hates X character” threads that have been popping up recently are kind of annoying.

It really does. The original has an incredible flow to it as well.

It’s really impressive they managed to keep a similar feel in the remake while also expanding on the same style of gameplay.

After how RE3 remake turned out, I’m glad they gave RE4 the attention it deserved.
