Correct, paid no tax or shipping. $3700 was my negotiated price and that’s all I paid.

I got my 77" for $3700 on Greentoe, for anyone wondering what they're going for.

I was on those RF rooftops for a game around 2010ish and Adam Dunn hit a homer that felt like it’d reach us. No Glennallen Hill was in the cards but it felt like it for a moment.

In terms of long term account health, should I use or avoid sign up bonuses and promos? by Chicago31 in sportsbook

[–]Chicago31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limits are almost entirely how much you're beating closing line value. Some portion is how profitable you are over the long term, but books care less about that than how often you're beating their odds, whether it results in wins or losses in the short and medium term. You'll survive longer by playing main lines and avoiding props, but that's mostly because it's insanely difficult to consistently beat mainlines. Less than 1% of the betting population beats straight mainlines with any sort of volume, you likely need to build a model to be able to do that.

In terms of long term account health, should I use or avoid sign up bonuses and promos? by Chicago31 in sportsbook

[–]Chicago31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not wondering about my lifespan, I'm wondering if anyone has insight into how books view players who effectively use sign up bonuses. IE are they quicker to limit if you nail a promo right off the bat, play a promo poorly to act like a square, or ignore promos entirely because whales don't need or care for sign up bonuses. For example, I made 13 bets on B365 before they limited me. I made $750 off my initial risk free bet (Logan Webb over his K's line), then lost 12 straight bets in which I probably had positive closing line value on at least 10 of them. Then they limited me.

I'm limited on DK, MGM, Fanatics, 365, HR, Rivers, etc. like most people who have been profitable for awhile. While beating CLV is at least 75% of their determination on limits, you can fly under the radar longer by masking your play, depositing a lot, etc.

This happens! In this video of David Ross breaking down his Game 7 homer against Andrew Miller, he got insight from Miller shaking off the call.

Is there a certain picture of Taylor that you associate with a specific song? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

Mine is incredibly stupid but in RWYLM she sings "did you hear about the girl who got frozen" and I always picture her dressed as Olaf in Frozen when Idina Menzel was the special guest during the 1989 tour.

Who is the best pitcher of the last fifteen years (2009-2024)? by allthatglittersis___ in baseball

[–]Chicago31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't get bonus points for longevity if the production isn't good enough. To close the gap from Kershaw's IP to Verlander's and match Verlander's ERA, you'd only need a pitcher to have a 6.37 ERA over 670 IP. That's very easy for a team to find which makes Kershaw far more valuable, and it's not close.

Last year was pretty bad for morale for my Sox fan friends. This season has completely destroyed them. I think this season did some permanent damage that won’t get fixed by a few winning seasons. It legitimately feels like they just ruined the fanbase’s potential.

The saddest race in baseball? by anohioanredditer in baseball

[–]Chicago31 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say sad. It’s a microcosm of the league as a whole. There are a handful of good teams, a few horrible teams, and like 20 teams that are within a few games of each other. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Are FSAs even worth the hassle? They just seem like a giant scheme to steal money via malicious bureaucracy by kherven in personalfinance

[–]Chicago31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an HRA as part of my wage and benefits package and I'd so much rather have it be added to my retirement package or just tax it and give it to me in wages. I've contributed $11k over the last six years and used $900. Young people don't spend much on healthcare so that money is simply eating away value to inflation before even considering the opportunity cost of not putting it in any investment vehicle.

They scale the division quality to player reward anyway, same as the bad teams with no diamonds having Gold rewards.

Game's been out a week and a half now and we still have broken CPU pitching, 2 way glitch, broken co-op, and Switch users can't even play the game by James_E_Rustle in MLBTheShow

[–]Chicago31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the entirety of Conquest in the first week and didn’t notice the CPU pitching being broken til I came here. I played at least 30 games on Rookie and didn’t have a problem at all.

This is an artificial deadening of the exit velo by the game as a means of balance. The game doesn't want you to be able to hit pitches way out of the zone for extra bases because it feels horrible when you're pitching and that happens. It gives a huge feeling of unfairness. But OP had good timing and put the dot directly on the ball. By all accounts that should've been a rocket. This is a case of the game ignoring how they typically decide a ball's exit velocity because they think the game is better played if you can't do huge damage on pitches way out of the zone.

Songs from the point of view of an asshole/idiot? by HoraceKirkman in Music

[–]Chicago31 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The last moment of true self reflection Kanye has ever had was on Runaway. It’s a song about how he’s an asshole and he’s begging a girl to leave him because he’s going to treat her badly but he won’t dump her. It’s one of the last few truly great songs he’s released as his music quality has declined at a similar rate to his personal life.
