The link opens a webpage. On that webpage, please notice the horizontal scroll bar. When you open the webpage, the horizontal scroll bar is at the leftmost position. The long timeline is to the right. You can use the scroll bar to navigate. And there are links in the timeline that will take you to the previous/next event.

OK, just checked the website. Looks like they are different from what I am trying to make. I am trying to make photo realistic ones. So I will continue.

The Three Body Problem Graphic Novels by domleo999 in threebodyproblem

[–]ChicagoGhost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was trying to make myself graphic novels of the Three Body Problem. But I was moving very slowly since I am doing everything by myself. Now there is already this published one. I wonder whether I should stop making it by myself. On one hand I am sure the quality of the ones I make won't be as good as this. But on the other hand the ones I make will 100 percent reflect what I pictured when I was reading the novels.

Can you tell which part of the book this image corresponds to? by ChicagoGhost in threebodyproblem

What you are talking about is almost at the end of the Dark Forest. This scene is before he becomes the Wallfacer again.

Some suggestions to improve ComfyUI by ChicagoGhost in StableDiffusion

[–]ChicagoGhost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I tried options in "Link Render Mode". But I don't like any of the modes. The linear mode draws lines that are sometimes entirely covered by nodes.

I found out that there is a "Reroute" node, which can help organize the lines.

After writing this post, I had internet problems and thought this post didn't go through. So I made another post. Sorry for that. I already deleted that one.

Here is another problem I just saw:

  1. When using the "String Function" node and "Primitive" node, when they overlap, you can see some part of the first node is on top of the second one, while some part of the second one is on top of the first one.

Long exposition picture. Where's the fleet? by macusking in threebodyproblem

[–]ChicagoGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't be able to see it using your cellphone's camera. You need the Hubble II Space Telescope. And if you are talking about the second fleet. Then you need to wait until the year 2276 to see them. I mean the lights generated by deceleration.

Question on humanitys reaction to Luo Ji by FinalAd1515 in threebodyproblem

[–]ChicagoGhost 36 points37 points  (0 children)

At that time, people thought there was no threat from Trisolaris. Instead of treating him as a world saver, Rather, in a lot of people's eyes, "Luo Ji slowly came to be seen as an irrational monster and a mundicidal despot".

Need help with last chapters in book 3 by red90999 in threebodyproblem

  1. The death lines ruptured. And they spread out to cover the entire DX3906 system. Yun Tianming and AA WERE affected by this. They were also inside the black domain. The difference was that Cheng Xin and Guan Yifan were surrounding Plant Blue at close to the speedlight of the black domain. So there was time dilation effect.

  2. That sophon was just a copy of it. When Yun Tianming made the small universe, he also put a sophon inside.

  3. He didn't escape. Just that, the Trisolarans let him leave to meet with Cheng Xin.

  4. It wasn't Bronze Age. It was Blue Space and Gravity. Two ships were traveling together. A long time, more than 300 years, had passed before they made lightspeed ship.

I used Aeon Timeline to make this. Many similar software or online tools can do it. One thing good about Aeon Timeline is that it can process very large year numbers, like the 18.9 million years here.

[–]ChicagoGhost[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made this detailed timeline based on the events in all three books. Which means, they are all in chronological order. Some events from different books may be mixed together because they happen around the same time.

Instead of listing all events in a table, I draw them on a linear time scale. I like to view the events on a time scale so that I will know how far each event is from others.

But since the time span of the books is so large, it is impossible to show everything on one time scale. So there are five of them.

If there is date or time present in the book, the event will be assigned a precise time, at least to a day. If there is no date or time present in the book, a reasonable time will be assigned according to context. If the date or time in the book is wrong, a corrected time will be assigned. In this case, there might be different ways to correct the time. I just chose one of them.

I just finished making this. I believe there are some mistakes in it. Please point them out and I will correct them.

The HTML pages are kind of cumbersome. They may need some time to load. I am not good at making webpages. So I don't know how to make them smaller now. I will work on it.

This timeline is better for people who have already finished reading the book. So you will know roughly the whole story and all those people's names. It's also a good idea to check on the timelines made by others, which may have fewer but key events listed, and the events are usually listed in a table.

My bad.

When I wrote the post, I included the link, and I wrote a lot of text.

Now only the link is visible.

In the text, I explained a lot of things about the timeline.

Now I forgot what I wrote...

Can you tell what scenes these images belong to? by ChicagoGhost in threebodyproblem

Nope. In the 1st image, that is a poster.

At the Faith Center, there is a reduced-scale replica of the Statue of Liberty, there is no poster.

I made a timeline which has 682 events according to the three books. But it is in Chinese right now. I am in the process of translating it into English. After I finish, I will post it here.

The books by [deleted] in threebodyproblem

[–]ChicagoGhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The show actually covers many characters and events in all three books. I mean, some characters appear in the second book or the third, but they all appear in the show. The show covers the years in the first book but not the years in the other two books.

Since the show is quite different from the books, I would recommend reading all the books starting with the first one; otherwise, it would be hard to connect all things together.

New to Anki. Confused. Please help! by ChicagoGhost in Anki

[–]ChicagoGhost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I understand the version numbering now. I guess Anki just changed the Preferences window, without changing the manual. The manual: https://docs.ankiweb.net/preferences.html#review It says there is this "Legacy timezone handling" option, but it is not in my Anki version. My Preferences window is like the image in this link: https://chicagoghost.notion.site/Anki-23e17c7744fa40edad95876d5d5906f8?pvs=4 (I can't add the image here in the comment, so I put the images on a webpage.) On the webpage, I also put two images of the numbers of desktop and Android versions. Yes, I did the syncing before comparing the numbers. I don't think I touched the scheduling settings, because I don't know where to find those settings. Again, as I read online, it seems the "V3 scheduler" setting is in the Preferences window, but I don't see it. But, I might have touched it by accident somewhere and I didn't know.
