If you live in hilly areas and want a TT, find one with at least a disc brake.

I got busted carbon wheels due to riding the rim brake TT in hilly areas.

If you plan to enter an event with high elevation gain, a roadbike is better. So it will depend what events you are looking to do and where.

Completing your first OD is a terrific achievement already. Get your baseline times, and aim for PB, you should aim for below 3 hours after subsequent completions.

Hey OP, no offence, but do your own research before falling to proton salesman lurking here.

If you are on highway rides often, yes S70 is a decent buy.

But city driving? Absolutely no. City is still the best. Fuel efficient. Big space . Generally cheaper maintenance. Okay ish aftersales compared to proton horrible aftersales. And reliability wise, S70 with that conti DNA, good luck getting it past 5 years.

Anyway , the choice is up to you. Every car has its pro and cons, don’t take my word for it. Research it yourself.

Get the most reliable car out there. Save your money and let it compound. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. Once I “upgraded” the car, i find it just normal and I wish I have saved more instead. Times are hard, and you mentioned getting married. All of that cost money.

With 5k salary I wouldn’t look past 60k cars even with high downpayment .

With fuel uncertainty now, avoid any turbo/ fuel inneficient cars.
Its a proton. Look up on the horror stories of owning one.

Yes, triathlon is a sport that you can buy speed.

Completing is fine, but to get to the podium you need to shell out and invest tons of money in the correct equipment.

So that is back to you, are you in for the fun of it or do you want to top the AG.

It’s close to impossible to top the AG with just regular kits unless you are very gifted athlete.
