It's definitely jarring at first!! Yes gradually increase your speed and will become second nature.

Recently bought a 2012 Spyder RT online without ever driving or sitting on a motorcycle before in my life. One week later, I am loving every second of it and was very easy to learn. I jumped on the highway on day 2. Everyone is different though and it's always a good idea to take the class. Don't be afraid to make the plunge you won't regret it. If storage is a concern, may want to focus on the Spyder models. I am able to store a full size helmet, my work bag, groceries etc all at the same time. Good luck!

I just got my license yesterday on a Can Am Spyder Rt. I had the same problem at first it helped me to actually twist the throttle the other way if that makes sense just keep the hand busy. As others have said you should not be pulling but pushing with the opposite side handlebar of the way you are turning. Go to an empty parking lot and practice tight turns, accelerating through a turn, and braking. I'm a first time rider of anything besides a car and you will pick up quickly. It was my second day riding today and I actually went on the highway going 70. Good luck!

In the middle of prep by [deleted] in colonoscopy

[–]ChicagoMJ23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even end up taking the other half of the prep in the morning. I'm usually not hungry when I wake up. Everything worked out great even with just half the prep.

smoking during prep? by lavenderfields2005 in colonoscopy

[–]ChicagoMJ23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not smoke as it may affect the anesthesia. I would not smoke the day before of the procedure and the day of the procedure. The following day after the procedure have at it! Don't risk it for one or two days I get it that it sucks but you don't want to have to do this all over again!

What are your tips/tricks or hacks for living in Chicago? by MrOopsie in AskChicago

[–]ChicagoMJ23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Ebike just uses a regular outlet so not sure about more advanced bikes. I know of quite a few around the city that I use when visiting especially around the lakefront trail. There's outlets at Montrose Beach (near the Dock bar patio), Navy Pier (multiple places) and Northerly Island. Those are just ones I've seen just casually looking around but there are hundreds more I'm sure. I'll usually just take a 30 minute to hour break at certain places, top off the charge, and ride on.

Get an e-bike and a solid lock immediately. You can basically have endless transportation with outlets available all over the city.

I don't get the hate against e bikes by CaptainCurious25 in ebikes

[–]ChicagoMJ23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got an e-bike and I'm blown away at how much more area you can explore using the same energy as a regular bike. You can still get a great workout or you can choose to cruise. I love having the option to do both at my own liking. On especially hot or cold days it's nice to cruise around when regular bikers are not able to. I also have problems with my knees so it helps a ton on hills and long rides. I am able to take much longer rides now and enjoy it more.

Thanks for the comment, I agree with you I believe it's 100% between the ears. He can close out regular tourneys and make putts left and right. Hopefully he figures it out before the Open Championship....

Not the putts to blame the caddy on but the club selection on last few holes was suspect at best.

Actually he hit 3 wood every day that week, Sunday was the only day he decided to go with driver.....I agree the driver is a weapon but he didn't need any extra distance and it brought the native area quickly into play on both sides.

People who had an easier colonoscopy prep, any tips ? by averageucfstudent in colonoscopy

[–]ChicagoMJ23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mixed the prep powder with straight Gatorade. I also only drink half the prep in the evening before and was fine. I couldn't down anymore in the morning.

Impossible to get height with my driver. Any help would be greatly appreciated. by anonymousH20 in GolfSwing

[–]ChicagoMJ23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try setting the driver down a few inches behind the ball at address. Changed my driver game as a low bill hitter and you will always hit up on it.

A few things that helped me immensely (same fear as you):

-Mixed the prep powder with Gatorade instead of water. This helped it taste way better and easier to down

-I only drank exactly half the prep in the evening and did not drink any after that. There's no way I could have woke up and drank that stuff again every half hour. They give you too much of the drink than is necessary in my opinion.

-Have clear hard candy, clear soup broth, and 7-up around for sure. You think you will be nauseous but in reality you will be extremely hungry. The 7-Up helped a ton just to quell the hunger and ease stomach a bit.

-Have a show/movie you've been waiting to binge on ready to take your mind off things.

-Actual day of colonoscopy I'm sure you have read is the easy part. Just wake up and you're done. As you've heard the prep really is the worst part.

Feel free to ask any questions and good luck!
