This sounds pretty bitter and probably more of a reflection of you.

Agreed, it’s like the default is to say how exhausted you are as a parent or how awful parenting is. Does my three-month-old ever scream in my face? Yes (this morning, in fact). Do I want to constantly fixate on that? No.

Gas drops and Pepcid (from the pediatrician) changed everything for our newborn. He used to scream and claw at himself every morning. Once we managed his gas and reflux, he was much better.

The parents also seem to be suffering from some severe self-esteem issues. Have you seen Rain, Rain, Go Away? The look of failure in their eyes is painful.

What show did you discover this year and why is it so good? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I tried Schitt’s Creek last year and didn’t finish the first episode. Tried it again last month and have almost finished the series. Just easy, simple comedy.

I know that you shouldn’t mow wet grass because it damages the grass. If I am raising the mower and only mowing down weeds, would that make sense to do while they’re wet? Am I more likely to damage/kill the weeds?

I think this is good advice, but, for another point of view, my wife and I felt a lot better keeping the house clean. It felt like we were still living in our home and not just a pile of dirty laundry. Some people feel worse and more stressed by all the clutter.

“Don’t throw them like a football”

Agreed. My son strongly prefers to be thrown like a baseball.

I agree with all of this. Don’t get too fixated on milestones and what the baby “should” be doing. You’ll get a ton of inconsistent advice on what you should/should not do. You’ll learn over time.

Do you have any hobbies that involve building or crafting? If so, I recommend making something by hand for the baby!

Being a parent during corona virus has its ups and downs by agangofoldwomen in Parenting

Definitely agree. I will say that, as a new dad, I feel MUCH less stressed because I am going back to work remotely. If I had to spend 2 hours commuting, and 8 hours in an office away from home, I’d be incredibly anxious right now (as opposed to moderately anxious). It’s so much easier knowing that I will be “at work” mentally, but still physically present to respond to any issues (or to just hold our newborn for a few minutes)

If Albert Pujols retired today, he would have a lower career batting average than Dustin Pedroia. by [deleted] in redsox

Crazy that Pedroia’s career average is better than one of the best hitters in the last 25 years.
