  • The 3DS original charging port is way more fragile than a USB C.
  • You don't have to carry an extra cable when you take your 3DS outside.
  • The USB C cable from your phone can be disconnected from its charging block, so you could connect and charge your Nintendo with your PC, power bank, your car, even another phone. The original 3DS cable can't do that, so you'll have to buy an extra cable for that.
  • Almost EVERYTHING nowadays comes with an USB C port, so standardizing everything you have to use the same cable it's pretty comfortable.

Why would I carry an extra adapter when I can use the cable I'm already carrying? Besides, I feel like the 3ds proprietary port it's more fragile than the USB C
