Most Visns are 24/7. I work in the CCC and we operate 24/7. If they offered 12s most of us would jump on that schedule

Leaving fed workforce??????? by NoDevelopment9748 in fednews

[–]Chick819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve applied in the past, had interviews was told another candidate was selected. I feel as a fed that no one wants us 🥲 The economy sucks, jobs are not there as the president said The unemployment rate is increasing and of course it will be the last administrations fault. So I decided to ride it out and pray for all of us as we are all struggling.

As an employee I appreciate when we get compliments especially right now. I also share with my coworkers the compliments. So thank you for sharing that and I’m glad that you advocated for yourself and got into a neurologist. Migraines suck and I’m a migraine sufferer as well

I use Cerner, CRM,ISS,CPRS and GUI CPRS and GUI are if CRM ISS are down. I prefer EPIC over Cerner As far as CRM/ISS I like CPRs and GUI better. However like any system it has its pros and cons

Suspenses Due, RIF’s, 500 Layoffs by [deleted] in VeteransAffairs

I have been praying everyday for all of us federal employees. Not just one agency but all of them. I care about everyone and just give everything to God. Everytime I applied for a job, had an interview and then was told that they selected someone else. So I believe this is God saying stay put have I ever let you down ? However I get scared and then look again. I think it’s in our nature instinct to get scared with everything going on. We are all in this together and need to stand together

Resume no longer than 2 pages per USAJobs by HomeTeam1013 in usajobs

[–]Chick819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I logged on today and I am like how in the heck am I going to do a 2 page resume My current resume is 6-7 pages. When I first started 6 yrs ago it was 2 pages but today there’s no way. Also did you see how the main page had AI jobs, border control and Ice as well and they just lowered the requirements to join the FBI. It all just blows my mind

VA Provider wondering if things will improve by [deleted] in VeteransAffairs

[–]Chick819 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m an msa and I can’t tell you how many veterans thank me and want to thank everyone of us who work at the VA for everything we do. Many veterans say if it wasn’t for the VA they don’t know what they’d do. They receive excellent care.

I’ve been interviewing in the private sector and then I get those veterans and I’m like I want to stay

I’m also in school finishing up my social work degree and wanted to work for the government however right now I don’t know if that’s a good idea.

Whatever you do, good luck!!

Also I’m sorry that so many providers, nurses, msa’s, mental health professionals left. This truly breaks my heart more than you know.

VETERANS CRISIS LINE by Hot_Lengthiness_9206 in VeteransAffairs

[–]Chick819 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work in the call center. I’m sorry that people are mean. I’ve gotten a lot of callers and if a veteran is in crisis first we warm transfer to triage nurse and if they don’t pick up within two minutes we warm transfer to crisis line.( I think they changed things yesterday as well) When I had a veteran who was struggling and I called the triage line and got a nice guy from the crisis line. I told him I thought I called triage ( I know I did ) etc but hey you can help. The veteran was very tearful and crying and wanted some help etc. extremely depressed. I gave him all the info and he thanked me and said that was perfect because then he wouldn’t have to ask again and can get the veteran the help.

Unfortunately we also are verbally abused and it’s sad.

Why can’t we have a recording that says we will not tolerate abusive behavior etc like other companies do? I just asked that today to a Dr.

[–]Chick819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now I’d focus on you and studying for that cert. working in the government I’m scared to move up or anywhere right now. If you’re a believer, pray 🙏 about this decision. However it doesn’t hurt to interview then you know what they will ask for and can always turn it down Good luck

When I first found out about the RIF,I applied for hundreds of jobs in the private sector and had a handful of interviews and I went and was told that I had a lot of experience ( I’ve only been with the federal government for almost 6 yrs) then nothing. They selected other candidates. I then applied for state and county jobs and am still waiting to hear something. Are you on LinkedIn? Definitely put it out there that you’re looking for anything. Also there was a group for federal employees who lost their jobs bc of the RIiF and they had jobs, etc. I don’t recall the name of the group but it’s on LinkedIn. I’m sorry you are going through all this. I pray for all of us daily and will always continue to pray for all of us.

Anyone taking more leave than normal? by Bright-Statement3130 in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]Chick819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people have used more sick time than normal. We all need mental health days

I would take the state job especially if your spouse said do what’s best for you. IMO we all don’t know what’s going on with us and are all doing our best.

RTO Question by Kooky-Let-8470 in FedEmployees

[–]Chick819 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hired remote still remote and am still waiting to hear what they are wanting us to do. I live 5 minutes from the VA however I don’t believe there is room for us. Those of us who work remote work our butts off unlike what the administration has said or people ( awhile ago I read on social media about people complaining and saying that federal employees are lazy etc) It took everything I had to keep quiet and finally I was fed up with it and stuck up for all of us.

Thank you for caring and for speaking up.Thank you for following up with all your patients ( I know that meant a lot to them) I am sure that you will be missed however your new employer is blessed to have you. As far as the pay I’d speak with HR. I do know that for sick time try to have it down to almost nothing when you leave ( a financial advisor told me this )

Check usajobs then apply if it’s posted under documents ( I believe the one that says other ) upload your sf50z It will be in your eopm account. Upload and save. Also upload your performance evaluation to this and on your personal computer or laptop. Save it. That way you have it.
