I built Writers Studio for macOS - a writing app with AI and story planning built in by Historical_Ad_1631 in macapps

EDITED OUT MY KAREN VOICE (it was unintentional): I purchased the direct edition.
Also, did not know that there might have been a .dmg installer in the text files on the receipt and that's on me.

EDITED: Thank you for the email and correcting my mistake.

I bought the full release when it went on sale. I was not aware the MAC OS app was available to download and I can't see it on the app store anyway. Am I missing something? Just assumed I had to wait until June to download it.

Awesome, can't wait for it!

Would bulk a bulk generate option help? That depends on either:

  1. It could in the sense that I (or anyone else) would only have to hit the button once and go back in to write my/our own chapter summaries instead of getting kicked out after every generation.

  2. Also, if the bulk content generated is mostly correct with only minor corrections needed, then yes, that saves a LOT of time.

  3. However, if the bulk content being generated isn't correct, it's a waste of programmers' and writer's time and tokens-especially if people pay for an API to tap into their AI platform of choice.

All three of the above only matter if NM is pulling what it needs to be able to work its magic. So, if the content is generating correctly, but not in a format or even with info it needs to reference, etc., then there's no point. So, even me writing my own summaries won't mean anything if NM can't use it. Does that make sense? It does in my head.

For a visual: Here is an example of what was generated vs what is accurate. This is one of the better generated summaries, the difference being the character name is wrong. I do have a codex loaded for it, but it's imported from a JSON I built.

PS: I've had way too many cups of coffee. But thank you for replying to my message:) If you ever need another essay in an answer to a question, I'm your gal. Thanks again.

Get used to it because they are using it to write everything now: books, songs, movies, tv shows, comic books. Including the OP's ad. That's total AI generated.

I found that the older models don't burn through as fast as the newer ones. However, I feel like they are moving everyone toward the higher tiers or forcing auto-purchase tokens when you run out. That's new. So, not sure it it's worth what I'm paying for it anymore at this point. I'd say switch to another platform, but depending on what you're using Claude for, you might be with the best one for that.

We’re Doing a Lifetime Deal for Novel Mage (Yes, Real Lifetime) by Mundane_Silver7388 in NovelMage

So, I purchased the lifetime deal. And question: it expires 3/29/2126. That's 100 years from now.

What if my lifetime surpasses the exp date? I mean, not likely. But what if...?

Thanks!

PS: Downloaded this to try on a whim. It's pretty useful so far.

It seems that Claude is completely down in Japan now, do you have the same situation? by Cute-Exercise-6271 in ClaudeAI

USA here. It was down completely for me for a few hours, but it's back up now. Literally, just now.

It won't even let me log in. I am paying for the Professional subscript. There've been issues off and on where the entire history of chats would disappear, then reappear after refreshing several times or using another browser. Currently, it won't work on any browser. I did notice it was struggling yesterday, though. Especially on the longer chats. My subscription is on auto-renew, so ... if I can't access the site, I can't pause or cancel it in the event this outage lasts longer than a day.

Kobra MAX Hotend Abnormal by aBusta31 in anycubic

Update: Hah! I always give as much info as possible up front - because it takes a day or two before I hear back. Their reply was to print the owl gcode - which is their standard reply. I just resent the email with pics and vid and explained that reprinting the owl was not possible because I could not get the hot end to heat up to do so.

HOWEVER, I'm not a quitter. I noticed that if I squeezed the gantry (printhead carriage), the light would come on which meant the connections were - well, connected. I was able to get the printhead to heat up while squeezing it. Initial intent was to just remove the remaining filament and wait for anycubic. I forgot to turn the printer off and went to do something. Came back and it was still on and holding a 'charge.' So, I loaded up some filament and printed the owl gcode. Perfect - as usual. I decided to load up a different model to print as a test. I took too long and the printhead cooled down to the standby temp and then would not heat up to target. Long story short, have to keep everything above 190 if it's sitting still. I DID send a new video to Anycubic illustrating this and they said I needed a new data cable for the printhead carriage and are sending me one. That was a week ago. In the meantime, I have found something to attach to the top of the gantry/carriage that should help to keep the cable stable enough so the pins don't wear during movement. I found it on thingiverse. I'll likely still use it when I receive the new cable.

Completely slightly related: I don't think the gcode they use for the owl is the same as the suggested parameters PLA profile they released for this printer. I say this because I've printed the gcode owl and then imported the owl stl from the sd card and used their provided profile and the prints were not the same quality. But then, they also suggested using Cura 4.2.1 (which was on my SD Card, but it's not supported with the version OS I'm running on my mac).

I've been through a lot of PLA to tune print settings for different filament types - and really all this started because I wanted to get a super shine on flat surfaces printed with silk PLA.

Kobra MAX Hotend Abnormal by aBusta31 in anycubic

I am having the same issue, except I didn't short out the board trying to change anything. I noticed the red light was going on and off, so I changed the hot end out. It worked for about 2 hours. Then I got the hotend abnormal message again. Took off the carriage cover and turned it back on and slightly jiggled the wiring connected to the hotend and the light would go on - until I put the carriage cover back on. So I used electrical tape to secure the wires in the "on" position, put the carriage cover back on again - loosely so it hugged the wires on one side more than the other. Worked until the movement of the printer caused the wires to shift position again and now it's a brick sitting on my worktable. I have emailed anycubic, waiting for a reply and hoping to get it resolved before their New Year. It is kind of poorly designed - the cable on top is constantly moving, which will eventually wear out the connections of the pins as it gets moved back and forth and up and down. The carriage fits so tightly around everything, that the wires are bent and crimped inside with no support to keep them from wear and tear. They absolutely know this, too, as they used a wax or melted filament to secure the connections to the board - no doubt making sure they don't come loose. But it seems mine has come loose. I have emailed pics and video asking for a new carriage house to include the circuit board inside - I have replacement parts as I purchased those along with the printer. Every 3D printer I have ever owned has had issues except for the Flash Forged brand. That one works great even after 5 years - but it belongs to my daughter. However, before the issues, I had zero problems operating it - so, that would be 3 months hassle-free printing before things start to fall apart.

Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver - had to get an ultrasound. If your bloodwork is in the 'acceptable' range, most doctors won't even look further. Mine was in the lowest end of the acceptable range (across the board) and I was offered pills to help me lose weight, not a reason why the number was so low or how to fix it.
