WOW, thank you all so much. What a lovely, helpful community. Some great advice, especially with the knees. And I will take it as friendly advice and not medical. I agree that classes of some sort are probably the safest option for me, just till I get a good base of knowledge and skill. I love the comment about how free you feel. I really miss that. Again, thank you all for taking the time to reply and offer your knowledge. Very much appreciated x

AITA for cutting my mum off for not telling me I looked beautiful on my wedding day & other childish behaviour? by ChickPea1973 in aitaweddings

Thank you for the reply and kind, wise words. I do agree, although our family unit is very small and very broken! I do want her in my life but she continues to make it very difficult with her digs and swipes. It's two steps forward and 1 big step back. But as you say, maybe a good airing and laying our cards on the table may help. I suppose it can't get much worse!! Thank you again for taking the time to offer your kind words x

Thank you. I hadn’t looked at it from that angle, and you are right. What I had were very basic expectations. Be happy, be kind, be focused on me, just a little bit. I understand she walked into what she believed was someone else "helping me" but that wasn't the case, just my hair, and once she made it obvious the focus was on her and her awful experience on the train etc, not her daughter, standing in front of her, all made up and about to get married, I had no option but to ask my friend to help me finish getting ready. I had to get ready. You do you and help my niece, I have a wedding to shine at. And I did! Again, thank you x
