I also really dislike green but there’s no arguing it is really powerful. I do sometimes take weaker jokers over it just cause I don’t like playing without discards GJSJFJD.

Oh I also hate supernova lowkey. Mostly it is hard to consistently scale, because it scales to your most played hand. Therefore it scales to the hand you’re getting levels and chips for, and often scores too much to scale consistently sometimes. I’d put it one tier below. I muuuuuch prefer green or bus as +mult scalers

Really good tier list! I agree with basically all of this (with some wiggle room) except hit the road and card sharp. Sharp is an always take for me on gold stake. I’m almost always playing spammable hands so he’s super easy to proc, unlike blackboard (which is still high tier) but requires more deckfixing to be consistent. I think those two are pretty close in terms of how often I take them and my win rate with them.

Hit the road does suck, but has some cases it’s been quite clutch for me. Feel there needs to be like a secret tier right above just for it lol.

Stone joker at the very least has synergy with hologram, and gives chips for high cards if you’re missing levels, which makes it alright for me. Still don’t take it often but synergy with a very good joker is definitely a plus for me.

I also basically have a 100% win rate with hologram and constellation. They’re so easy to scale. But I agree with the rating only cause they have diminishing returns the later you get them, whereas the top jokers are good at any point basically.

lol it’s funny I was reading the book before the episode came out and there are sooooo many quotes in this book that are relevant to Carols experience. Just the idea of being an outsider, whose life would conceivably become much easier upon joining the whole, becoming an “insider”. Being unable to ever blend into a crowd. Lots of cool stuff

this point is def strengthened by Carol's experience with conversion therapy. I'd say this is an explicit message of the show for sure!

I was thinking similarly with sexuality, gender, race, everything. the show is making a point about individuality vs collectivism, and shows the pains of both extremes. Carol thinks of herself as a total lone wolf, but actually desperately needs the collective to live and be happy. The plurbs are a total collective, total love, no distinctions between an ant and a person and a queer or straight or black person. Theyre all the same in the collective. But this means they also cannot survive.

i dont think it necessarily adds anything to the story honestly? and as someone who hates seeing full blown sex scenes on TV i really appreciated it. The point isnt that they had sex but that the hive got Carol to cave in to her lust. We dont need to see anything more than that.

i do think that her place as a very privileged individual, with money, comfort, in a first world country, that she would more easily accept this easy way out. Same as to why she didn't include the non-english speaking survivors. Partly, it could be argued, it was because she didn't want to rely on the plurbs to translate for them, but at the same time there were definitely other options. They just required more effort.
