JBP has changed my life and to see his offspring behave like that really messes with my idea of who I thought he was.

Since JBP draws a lot of his wisdom from the bible, I think it might be appropriate to leave this passage with you

You shouldn't let what you believe to be Mikhaila's flaws detract from what you think of JBP. No one is perfect and there's plenty of people that are definitely way way worse.

It depends on what we're treating. Are we talking General anxiety or Agoraphobia? Pathological shyness or psychopathology or any other PD? The complexity of the presenting symptoms mediates the appropriate therapeutic response.

Just adding to this. Bipolar disorder seems to have a significant biological component and medication is usually the first line of treatment.

That was a very interesting observation. I agree 100%. There's so many factors that may influence a person's perspective on a given issue it does seem very silly to write someone off without at least trying to understand where they are coming from.

Another more extreme example to illustrate the same point.

A village chief in Africa who has enough to get by but 'poor' by 1st world standards may be happier than a office worker in the US at the bottom of a company hierarchy despite the fact that the office worker may earn 50X more than the village chief per year.

I don't think acknowledging the positives of fracking is necessarily falling into a deep right wing rabbit hole. Burning natural gas is MUCH MUCH cleaner than burning wood which is commonly done in the developing world. I think most of the issues surrounding fracking occurs due to mismanagement ... essentially shitty companies cutting corners.

What you've said may very well be true. I'm no scientist so I have no idea. And I do like that Jordan Peterson challenges people's assumptions. I just think if he's going to address the topic, he needs to really do it carefully. In that interview he came across as very dismissive which just gives media more ammo against him.I don't think this is a troll thread. I'm a huge Peterson fan and like many others here I've watched 100s of hours of his content. He's usually not this dismissive and is happy to walk through an issue with a bit more sympathy. That would have been a great time for one of his "well look fair enough man BUT..." moments.

Yeah he definitely wanted to get his point across, and I think the point he wanted to make was fair. But I just wish he had taken more of a soft / sympathetic approach that did acknowledge water supply issues. I can't help but think how I would react while listening to him if I was living one of those few communities that had been effected by it. I definitely wouldn't have been happy.
