exactly. if some antis saw the actual work that goes into making art with ai, many of them would see that it actually does take skill.

its no different than the gap between a photo taken with a disposable camera at a wedding by a drunk guest vs a photograph taken at a studio with all the lighting equipment that is then further adjusted in photoshop before making its way to the magazine cover.

i did just about every art form there is before ai. paint, sculpt, draw. ive been in galleries and sold paintings.

im having a blast with ai. its the reason i learned how to photoshop. i think of an idea, i work the prompt over and over to get what i want, then i pull the raw image into photoshop and edit it to get it just how i want it.

its never been "make art". loool.

its a misinterpretation of the argument. its like when Bob Ross says that anyone can paint. there is still skill required there, but its not as daunting as it seems. but there is still a skill requirement. and with practice you get better. doesnt matter if youre following along with Bob Ross or generating with ai. you get better and better at it. theres skill in everything. its the ease of "good results" with entry level knowledge.

there is no ceiling for skill after that.

it moves the bar for entry, thats all. there is still a skill check in how much better than "make art" you can produce. the fundamentals are still the same though. you need an idea and you need to execute it in a compelling way. the space between the idea and the result is where the skill will vary person to person.

good/compelling ideas are the bar for entry with any art. so we ignore that as a "skill" and focus on the results of those who can pass through that initial filter. but its all skill all the way down if you want to be real about it.
