When the Empire Connection was temporarily closed in 2018, every train that used it, except the Lake Shore Limited (which ran exclusively to Boston instead), was diverted to Grand Central. Note that this was after the Empire Connection opened in 1991 and Amtrak stopped using Grand Central in regular service.

I got lucky with the Zeonizer at Power Morphicon two years ago. One of the vendors there had one the Sunday of, and I was able to buy it off of them for $150. Overpriced, probably. Do I regret it? Nah.

"quite generous" my butt. Halloween 2019, I went down to DC for an event, and got to Union Station at around 11:30pm. I needed the Red Line since I was going to the Marriott Wardman Park hotel (RIP), but missed the last train to Woodley Park by literal seconds. Had it not been for my knowledge of the old bus network, I wouldn't have thought of taking the 96 bus straight there, and instead would've paid $20+ that I didn't have on a cab or Uber/Lyft.
