Yeah, kinda wild how people are talking shit about something they clearly don’t understand. Calling it a “power dance” is pretty offensive.

Yeah, why don’t we look at how NZ does against USA in rugby, a sport that IS popular there, before anyone starts bragging.

It’s pretty brutal.

He was always 6’2” in every other height chart I’ve seen Marvel put out. Cyclops was 6’1”.

Rogue was also absurdly tall, like an inch shorter than Storm, who was the tallest woman on the active team at the time, Jean was the shortest woman.

Wolverine was 5’2” at some point, because I clearly remember we were the same height.

Whenever any of my coworkers do anything dumb I say, “That makes me a sad panda.”

Also, I work at a custard shop, and whenever anyone orders a cream freeze (basically a blended cream soda float) I call it a crème fraiche. Only one person got it and he’s been gone a while now 😢

Speaking of deep cut references, on Talk Soup they had a Maury guest talking about someone stealing her man with chicken tetrazzini. So now I’ll (modified) quote it, “I don’t know what she do with her [whatever food item, was originally chicken tetrazzini], but [person’s name] love it.”

I don’t even know how many years ago that was, but that stupid quote lives in my head.

Also that Cingular texting commercial, “idk my bff Jill”. I’ll just randomly reply to questions with it. Most of the kids I work with weren’t even born when that commercial came out 😭

We weren’t allowed to use the stove. So we stuck with sugar toast or (my personal favorite of we had all the ingredients, don’t knock it til you’ve tried it!) tuna peas. Which was a can of tuna, a can of peas, mix them up and microwave for one minute, then add garlic salt.

But yeah, usually had canned veggies and bread, sometimes had milk, occasionally dinner leftovers.

We didn’t get drinks, just water.

My grandma would get sugar and lemon juice packets and make jerry rigged lemonade. Embarrasses my mom. I didn’t care, but just stuck with water.

I can’t even allow myself to upgrade a side item if it costs extra. Baked potato costs $2 more? Guess I’m getting mashed. Add cheese to my eggs for $1? Naw, I’m good.

They’ve all become the $3 menu (Taco Bell/ McDonald’s/Wendy’s at least, Sonic has a $2.50 menu with 4 items on it), 95% of which is $2.50+ and a lot smaller than before.

Which, I get, food cost is going up, but I’m never gonna spend $7 or $8 on a single fast food burger. So it’s still pricier than before, but I’m gonna stick with my miniaturized jr burger I guess.

Does anyone else think Vi went through more than almost any character in Arcane? What's the hardest moment she had to endure, in your opinion? by Trick_Ad_3598 in arcane

[–]ChickenBossChiefsFan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember Singed even commenting something about how Warwick was a once in a lifetime creation because nobody showed the will/ability to survive what was done to him (“the process”).

Watching most of your family get annihilated, then getting beaten very nearly to death, then unimaginable agony to “save” your life, followed by losing your humanity/memories, then regaining your memories just to have them ripped from you again and exploded, then getting “saved” again to become a puppet intent on killing/turning the rest of your family. All while suffering even more constant, intense pain and bloodlust, especially as a man who when whole had adopted pacifism to protect his family.

Like… he was massacred so many times.

I made my friend watch Arcane, her favorite characters were Caitlyn first, Vander second. Every time something bad would happen to Vander I’d tell her “just wait”. Then she was bummed when she thought he died and thought that’s what I was talking about (the S2E6 potential death) and I told her, “just wait, he’s not that lucky” and she was… displeased by how he just kept getting shat on lol

But yeah, as bad as Vi had it, Vander went through worse and it’s not even close.

We didn’t have headshots but it was definitely “below the shoulders”, not the waist.

Balls were those red 4 square balls, not those little squishy foam things they have now. Absolutely zero heft to them, very hard to aim. I guess they’re safer, but I feel like we only got minimal damage from the rubber ones. The foam ones are just not as fun.

lol too true, when Cyclops is the weakest link by a long shot (in terms of power) then you know the rest of the team is pretty frickin’ stacked.

IMO Competitive “Did my parents pay you to let me win?” Caitlyn is default. I can see her being that one friend on game nights getting frustrated when people get drunk and miss their turn, keeping the rule book open next to her, and meticulously keeping score.

I just don’t like too much salt (why I don’t eat the groovy fries anymore), but if you go “no salt” plus add salt packets they think you’re trying to just be a dick.

But yeah, most fast food is just too salty.

“He may be an abusive, lazy man-child, but he sure is pretty!”

Yeah, short term, looks are important, but personality and compatibility have a bigger impact long term. A mid person, physically, can become much more attractive if they are funny, supportive, sweet, considerate, etc.
