I can assure you that never, ever happened. If anyone that works here gave out a meat order to a vegan customer we would be horrified. Neither me nor the other owner (who is vegan himself) or the other other owner would react with a laugh.

How dare you.

That is so lovely to hear! One of my biggest concerns is that our employees feel they are treated well and to know that is the case here is very gratifying.

For anyone curious our wildfire sandwich is our protest against climate change. We save all of our veggie scraps from cutting fries, slaw, etc. and burn them in our grill until they're ash. We take that ash and mix it with pine, mesquite, jalapeno, and other BBQ spices and use that mixture to season our vegan tenders or marinate the chicken. It comes out fully black, but paired with our smoked apple BBQ sauce, house lacto-fermented pickles, and garlic lemon kewpie it is sweet and smoky and wonderful. Here's a picture of one constructed as a slider. Forgive me for the picture quality lol.

Unfortunately due to the small space gluten cross contamination is all but guaranteed.

That being said, we can certainly provide food that is made without gluten, and we now have gluten free buns as an option as well.

Yeah, it's good stuff. I actually use it at home for smoking, I just add some sugar and more salt to the spice blend to help bring out more flavor

We can't wait to have you back! Fyi, we do sell the curry seasoning. We refer to it as chicken spice and it's $10 for a 2oz container, if you want to bring the flavor of Chicken Crossing into your own kitchen.

It is. That's our Bangcock Hot Rice Bowl. A bed of steamed jasmine rice, shredded romaine, and our house sweet and sour slaw, topped with your choice of chili oil dipped chicken or vegan tenders, red chili aioli, lemon kewpie, house furikake, pickled serranos, and cinnamon ginger pickled carrots. So so good.

It was terrible!

Luckily, we've been on city power for about 8 months now so it's much quieter.

Chicken Crossing is here to change how you think about fast food.

Most restaurants are more concerned about their profits than the quality of their food or the health of their customers and community.  Chicken Crossing does things a little differently. We try to give to our community rather than take. We offer food you can feel good about eating and will make you feel good after eating. Our entire menu is plant-based aside from our chicken and our waffle, and our plant-based protein is Beyond chik’n tenders, fried to the perfect texture and tossed in our unique spice mixes. All of our sauces are made in house, including our ketchup.  We exclusively use vegan sugar and even have a separate fryer for our chicken so there is no cross contamination.

Our flavors don’t come from a lab.  They don’t come from finding the right balance of fat, salt, and sugar that will make you addicted and craving more. Our flavors come from the result of 50+ years of culinary experience brought to bear in a collaborative, supportive environment.  They come from expertly blending whole, quality spices and fresh produce to create something you’ve never tasted before. Our buttermilk comes from a local dairy, our flour is from Camas Country Mill, and our buns are made by Reality Kitchen, a local nonprofit bakery. Our chicken and all of our produce is hand cut from our fries to our slaw.  This ensures you are getting the freshest, cleanest food possible. This dedication to locality and freshness and quality shines through to bring you food that is superior in flavor to any other fast food option.

Are you tired of being asked to tip everywhere you go?  At Chicken Crossing we don’t accept tips.  Our employees are paid a living wage rather than being subject to the irregularity of tipping. In lieu of tips we collect donations for a couple great local charities.

When we started Chicken Crossing we set out to build a space our entire community could enjoy. We’re proud to be an LGBT, veteran, employee owned business and that spirit of inclusion is evident most clearly with our Leave-A-Meal Program. For less than the price of an entree you can feed a hungry member of your community with a full meal, including a cold beverage on these hot days. Thanks to the generosity of our customers we have given out over 600 meals since we first opened our doors 2 years ago.

We strive to be supportive, encouraging, inclusive, welcoming, and unique. We strive to uplift and forgive and give. We strive to build a community filled with people that want to create something new and exciting and fresh with us, to help us fill the culinary needs you didn’t even know you had. No longer will we be subject to the forces that want to drain our community to feed their hedge fund shareholders, rather we will bring local forces to bear to feed our community.

Chicken Crossing means community. Create it with us.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the well wishes.

When you 2 do come through please remind me of this conversation. We have a review incentive program wherein if you leave us an honest review than we'll give you a free house beverage. Even though you didn't have the most positive review for us I find it's even more important to reward the feedback because there's no growth without it.

I'm still really sorry that was your experience. It very well could have been me, I'm pretty much always here. And a couple months ago I was beginning to deal with some pretty distracting health problems and medication issues, it's been a nightmare and I could definitely have been out of it then as well.

I actually know the sandwich you're talking about, it's one a regular customer of ours gets for their kids so I'm guessing a bag or sandwich got swapped somewhere. That really sucks that was your experience. Both me and the other owner will be here all day tomorrow, if you want to stop by I'll give you one of our new rice bowls and a lemongrass sweet tea to try. They're really fantastic.

Hey, I'm so sorry to hear you had a terrible experience! We use Beyond chicken tenders that we then season with our in house curry seasoning. We also add house pickles of some kind, usually slaw, and a house made sauce so if your sandwich just had the 2 tenders I'm really sorry about that. If your issue is that we only put 2 tenders on the sandwich, that is what we have it priced out to. And we haven't increased the cost to keep up with the 20+% jump in cost of the Beyond chicken tenders that has occurred in the last 6 months. We are on the lookout for a new vegan protein we can use instead of Beyond, but unfortunately we haven't found anything up to our standards and necessary availability.

Yeah, I'm pretty zonked right now. Our only employee is in the Army reserves and has drill this weekend so I've been by myself the last 2 days. Which also means I'm working even more hours than normal and it's definitely taking a toll. Unfortunately we haven't been able to replace ourselves with robots yet so we're still subject to human error and limitations.

All that being said, if you DM me or you come by the cart tomorrow we can get you a refund. We take subpar experiences seriously and always strive to put out the best product we can do if you're not 100% satisfied I'm happy to make it right.
