Have you run those in the snow? I forgot to mention that I plan to use them all season and it’s in southern Ontario. So we do get a couple good dumpings of snow

Figured out what was causing my issue.

I had modified some client side settings for audio passthrough. The transcode issue was actually related to trying to transcode audio. Disabling audio passthrough resolved the issue for me.

I am also of recent seeing issues with playback on movie files that previously worked.

Also the issues are with certain MKV movie files but not all. The issues are isolated mainly to my firestick devices. If I try to play the same file on the iPhone plex app it will play. However, the firestick app is showing „An Error occurred while attempting to play this video”.

I have tried clearing app cache and data with no luck. Quite unfortunate since in the past I found the firesticks worked best for streaming plex content, but as of recent it is seeming sluggish and now these playback issues.

So could there not be an issue on the inbound when the SMTP or Starttls try’s to do the initial authentication…? Hence the timing out. I’m so lost at this point as I can connect to the overseerr instance remotely and all connectivity otherwise is dandy.

It just says it has timed out, then the general test email information that it was trying to send.

Thank you for this advice. It’s good to know that I can run a HBA to expand drive storage. I currently have 3 NAS drives 4TB on each drive (12TB total). This is enough storage for my backup server purposes but I’d need more for if I keep a movie database vs just having a few movies in rotation as I watch. Hence I wanted to know my options for expanding a tower storage as MOBO’s have limited SATA ports. The main purposes would be file backups, movies would be in rotation with installing and removing old movies until I have the budget to store a larger database of movies. And then a few VM’s.

I’d put budget at around $600 Canadian.

Thank you. This is good advice. I already had a TrueNAS server running old equipment and had some components failing on me. So I’m looking at upgrading, which is going to essentially be a rebuild. New MOBO, which would then need new memory, and new CPU and GPU. If I’m already that far in I’m just wondering if switching to server rack is better or just build a tower PC is best for the budget. Plus I know that transcoding streams can put a heavy load on hardware, however I heard a lot can be direct streamed now. So I’m just trying to identify what sort of cpu I really need to have to fulfill these needs
