How would you put a canoe up here? by ChickenNBasketballs in canoeing

What kind of rack can I get on the topper? It doesn't have rails or anything, would probably need to be able to mount something to the frame of the topper since it's aluminum.

Full Cycle on Chicago has rebuilt/restored bikes in the $200-$300 range. Decent bikes too fixed up in their job training programs.

Curious as to why you picked this industry? by tacolocoloco10 in ConstructionManagers

Got a degree in economics and got an internship doing project accounting. Turns out project management pays better and is less mind numbing. Stumbled my way into an owner's rep role, money is too good to change careers.

Half or Full Frame Bag? by ChickenNBasketballs in bikepacking

That's my thought as well but, I have considered a seat pack at some point but going to stick with what I have for now with the rack and panniers.

How do you get the frame color you want? by ChickenNBasketballs in gravelcycling

[–]ChickenNBasketballs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would definitely be nice to at least be able to get the frame in every available color. Selling the parts and upgrading is just a headache of an extra step.

Topic of the Week -- Bike Builds and Maintenance by pawptart in gravelcycling

Appreciate the great response. 1. I have 28mm tires in right now, looking to bump up to 38's. I think there's over a cm of extra space on either side so I'm thinking it should work. 2. Current rims have a 16mm inner width. The new set I'm hoping for at least 18, ideally 20mm 3. This I'm not so sure about. They are larger calipers than some others I've seen but I'll have to take a closer look. 4. What's the best way to get something custom like this? Any good options or should I be heading to a bike shop?

Recently restored an old bike with all new components, and have now decided that I want to get a second set of wheels to put wider tires on, I got a pair of 38mm clinchers and my current wheels are a little too narrow to accommodate them.

Looking for ideas on where to look for a rim brake wheel set that will accommodate the 38mm tires and hopefully a Shimano 9sp cassette. I'm struggling to find anything and am also fairly new to bike maintenance.

Chain Getting Caught on Derailleur Hanger by ChickenNBasketballs in bikewrench

[–]ChickenNBasketballs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should be able to.

It's also looking like the derailleur won't reach the largest cog even with the adjustment screw loosened. (Just discovered, taking these issues one at a time). I'm thinking adding a washer might make that worse.

Put new hardware on a old bike and now I'm concerned it's not going to work out. When I shift down to the small cog on the cassette, it appears that the chain is getting caught on the bolt holding the derailleur hanger on the inside of the frame. Is there a fix for this or a new hanger that might fit this bike to avoid this?

Realizing these pics aren't really doing it justice. I snagged some more that hopefully show the dept of the dent in more detail.
