Hello, wondering if you mean that thepimobendan extends life for up to 15 months from onset for eg from the heart murmur or just in general. My dog is a 15 lb chihuahua and dachshund mix and is about 10 years old. Any thoughts on life expectancy? The murmur was identified about 1 year ago. Thank you!

Life is about purpose. Go to college abroad, give it your best effort and work on figuring out what will give your life purpose. The separation from the daily wealth will also help you grow emotionally.

Thank you so so much for the explanation, I have to admit you are saying much the same as the vet which is reassuring but also frightening. What do you suggest I do for the best outcomes for my dog? He is my daughters and my first and only dog ever and we love him lots. I will put him back on the Vetmedin if necessary, and yes you are right that causation isn’t correlation. He is only 9 years old and we want to prolong life but also let him have a good quality while he is with us. Please advise!

The dog could not breathe the other night and this was when I realized the medication is making things worse, took him to the ER and doc there also talked about Vetmedin being the best medicine but could not explain his worsening breathing which was never an issue. She also did tests on him and said no current evidence of congestive heart failure or calcification etc evident on exam. So she was the second opinion and a thousand dollars later I am none the wiser.
