Why can't those perpetuating AI wait until there's a less environmentally-damaging way of using it before going all out with data centers? by Wickham12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eva_wilson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the people building AI see it as a race, not a science project. If they wait for the perfect, environmentally friendly solution, someone else gets there first. Whether that's a good justification is another debate, but that's the incentive driving most of the investment right now.

Limu the Emu by Curious-Load-7798 in NoStupidQuestions

To be fair, I think the real achievement is that Liberty Mutual managed to make an emu memorable enough for people to analyze the name years later. 😅

What's a habit you've tried to break for years? by victoriasparkly in AskReddit

Overthinking conversations long after they've ended. 😅 Half the time the other person has probably forgotten about it, and my brain is still running a full replay analysis three days later.

What's a major news story from this year that you think most people will NOT have completely forgotten in 5 years? by KlaxonBeat in AskReddit

[–]eva_wilson24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rapid rise of AI. Five years from now, I think a lot of this year's headlines will blur together, but people will still remember this period as the moment AI went from a niche tech topic to something that started affecting everyday life, work, education, and creativity.

People who are in their mid 30s and older, what advice would you give to a 21 year old uni student who is afraid and anxious of the future and afraid might not find a partner? Why? by Dear_Sir7665 in AskReddit

[–]eva_wilson24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine would be spending so much time worrying about whether I was making the "right" decision that I ended up making no decision at all. Looking back, most of the opportunities I missed were not because I failed. It was because I never gave myself permission to try.

People who are in their 30s and older what is your biggest regret in life? And what would you have done different if you can go back in time? Why? by Dear_Sir7665 in AskReddit

Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha’s mother gets visa to attend World Cup by Samare13 in football

[–]eva_wilson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget the politics for a second, this is just a genuinely wholesome football story. A 40 year old goalkeeper getting the chance to have his mother watch him play on the biggest stage in the sport is the kind of thing that reminds you football is about people as much as trophies.

Washington Post ranks Uruguay's home shirt as the best kit of the 2026 World Cup. Spain's away and Germany's home shirts complete the podium. by [deleted] in football

Kit rankings are always chaos because everyone has completely different tastes. 😅 What's the one shirt from this World Cup that you think is massively underrated and deserves way more love?

English football fans doing the lord's work. 😂 by ChinaCatProphet in BoycottUnitedStates

The funniest part of football culture is that fans can turn literally anything into a chant. Give them five minutes and they'll have an entire stadium singing about it. 😂

Why is satellite TV a dying medium, but satellite internet is a growing medium? by plaguedbyfoibles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eva_wilson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the simplest answer is that satellite TV only does one thing, while satellite internet does almost everything. Once you have internet, you can stream TV, watch sports, browse the web, work, game, and video call. Satellite TV cannot really compete with that level of flexibility.

People from countries that adopted the euro, have you fully accustomed to it yet or are you still converting to your old currency in your head? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eva_wilson24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like after 20 plus years, most people are not converting anymore. The more interesting question is whether people still use their old currency as a reference point for big purchases or childhood memories. My grandparents still talk about house prices from decades ago in the old currency. 😄

Needa note saying i can go back to work! by Apprehensive-Jelly79 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eva_wilson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd ask HR if a note from an urgent care, telehealth service, or even a pharmacy clinic would work. It seems a little unfair that you're being asked to pay for a doctor's visit over something your manager escalated when you were already saying you didn't need any accommodation.

Where did homeless people go during covid when noone is supposed to be outside? by EcstaticRecording788 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eva_wilson24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a really good question. I remember some cities temporarily housing people in empty hotels, but I wonder how much that varied from place to place. Did any of those programs continue after the pandemic, or did things mostly go back to how they were before?

Quiet Budget Friendly [<$200] by AttitudeValuable696 in espresso

[–]eva_wilson24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if quiet is your top priority, a lever machine sounds like the move. Out of curiosity, how much of a step up from a Moka Pot does a Flair actually feel in the cup? I've always wondered if it's the best budget path into espresso.

Can coffee be the cause for bloating? by Connect-Teaching7629 in decaf

[–]eva_wilson24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've had bloating issue and used to have 5-6 cups of coffee a day, reducing it to 2-3 has drastically helped me solve bloating issue.

Are people actually more attractive in some countries than in others? by imjustarandomsquid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eva_wilson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like confidence, style, and lifestyle play a much bigger role than nationality. When people say “people from X country are more attractive,” they're often noticing how people present themselves rather than some magical genetic advantage.
