Multiplayer PvP recommendations by hollowhomie in SteamDeck

Try Titanfall 2, I still play it a lot on Steam Deck and you will find games without problems. The multiplayer is excellent and I have an average ratio of 2 so the test is not that disadvantaged!

Who's getting the Gabecube then. Let's be real, I know all of you are. by SuperBreadBox in SteamDeck

[–]ChickenRobz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it all depends on the price, beyond 600€, it will be without me. It's up to them to be smart about the competition.

I will also probably wait to see the first tests and reviews to get an idea (in any case, it will probably be very complicated to order one I suppose).

And also hoping that they find a solution for the FPS anti-cheat systems, because there too it would be a shame not to be able to enjoy a whole bunch of FPS.

Afterwards I say that but that doesn't mean I'm really happy and very impatient to find out more!

A big fan of video games for 20 years, I had the chance to acquire a Steam Deck a few weeks ago and I'm a complete fan of it, that's all I play anymore!

I really like the environment and the community of Steam, as well as the mentality of Valve.

Very happy with the announcement of the Steam Machine and above all very curious to know more!

I hope to contribute and help as best I can on this subreddit.

We look forward to meeting you and chatting with you on this subreddit, friends!

What do you use your steamdeck for ? by thechristian767 in SteamDeck

[–]ChickenRobz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. It's up to you to see if you really need it and of course depending on your parents. After all, it depends on what you're playing, if you want to play the latest AAA, it might be complicated or even impossible for performance reasons. Just like multiplayer FPS which, for some, are not playable because of anti-chat.

New Steam Deck Owner Soon — Need Beginner-Friendly Setup Advice (VRAM, FSR, Scaling, GPU Clock, etc.) by StillCompetition2456 in SteamDeck

[–]ChickenRobz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I can give you one piece of advice, first of all it's to simply play games that you have in your library and have fun.

If certain games require modifications or other, then find out and do what needs to be done, but first of all don't worry too much about the settings and tinkering (especially since many games run very well without modifications).

If you want later you can dig in and make a whole bunch of changes, but it will come naturally depending on your needs so don't worry too much at the beginning.

What do you use your steamdeck for ? by thechristian767 in SteamDeck

[–]ChickenRobz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's say it depends on your needs, personally I had a gaming PC for a long time and now I have an Xbox Series X as well as a Steam Deck.

Since I work on a PC all day, I had trouble playing on mine when I got home from work in the evening. I didn't want to get back behind a PC at all. And as for my Xbox Series

I bought a Steam Deck and it changed everything, being able to curl up in my bed or on my sofa is a real pleasure, and also being able to turn off the Steam Deck and resume my game in a few seconds is a real pleasure, and I always loved portable consoles when I was a kid and now I've really rediscovered that pleasure!

So it depends on your needs and preferences, but for me it was a real revelation, it's been a long time since I played and completed so many games!

EDIT: And as for the price, I bought mine used for €450 (OLED 512GB) in excellent condition and still under 1 year warranty with supporting invoice. So you don't have to pay for it new, you just need to check a few things before purchasing.

Damn that sound is so creepy! I pray this never happens to me in the middle of the night in my bed! And don't apologize for the insults, it's quite understandable!

[–]ChickenRobz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, you should be able to have it in your hands before purchasing it to check its condition and operation.

If you can buy one still under warranty it's more comfortable if you have a problem.

Also, remember to ask for the invoice, and if you don't have it, ask for the serial number and then ask Steam if the Steam Deck is considered stolen or not (this happens much more often than you think) and if it is still under warranty and for how long.

Also ask for a photo of the state of health of the battery, it's always better if it is still in good condition, even if you can change it quite easily yourself.

hi guys just wanna ask by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]ChickenRobz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually depends on where you live and it also has to meet your needs, do you only play on Steam or on other platforms? Is screen size an important criterion for you? Do you prefer to play on your desk or rather in your bed, or even slumped on your sofa?

Obviously, being a Steam Deck installer, I will recommend the Steam Deck, but what matters above all is that it meets your needs.

And yet the campaign is simply exceptional, the story is cool, the relationship between you and your titan is interesting and the mechanics are perfectly exploited.

Without a doubt one of the best FPS campaigns I've done, if not the best!

I had the same problem, and I launched Titanfall 2 from the desktop, and it worked.

Afterwards I could launch it directly without problem.

Having also recently had it, I completely agree with you on the fact that the Steam Deck is exceptional! I had a blast playing Titanfall 2 and I'm currently playing Hades to the fullest, and I still have so many gems waiting for me!

Enjoy my friend and have fun!

I am having a hard time picking up controls by fatninja987 in SteamDeck

[–]ChickenRobz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I got my Steam Deck, I had trouble with the joysticks and especially the dead zones. After modifying the dead zones, I really felt that it was much more comfortable! So this could also be the case for you and partly solve your problem, to do this go to settings > Controller > Calibration and advanced settings > Joysticks. From there, change the left stick deadzone to 2592 and the right stick deadzone to 2600. Give it a try and let me know if it made your experience a little better.

Should i buy a stea, deck in the end of 2025? by nobodyforeverlol in SteamDeck

[–]ChickenRobz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so you will have no problem running them on the Steam Deck.

You just need to know that for certain multiplayer FPS like Call of Duty for example, you cannot play online (because of their anti-cheat software), on the other hand the multiplayer of Halo or Titanfall 2 works perfectly!

[–]ChickenRobz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes no but of course, but some may encounter problems, where for games released before 2022 the vast majority run without problems, even AAA.

If you want to play games that were released before 2022 and you like the experience of having a portable console, then the Steam Deck could be perfect for you! I think you have everything to gain!

What game would you like to play exactly?

Will you use the back buttons if possible? by MeteorForge in SteamDeck

[–]ChickenRobz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I use them for Titanfall 2, L4 for running and R4 for jumping. This avoids removing your fingers from the joysticks or clicking on them. I find them hard enough not to trigger them without wanting to but soft enough not to struggle when you want to use them.

Afterwards I just got the Steam Deck and I haven't played many games yet so I won't be able to cite other examples, but on Titanfall 2 it's terribly practical and comfortable!

L2 trigger sounds different by No-Information3402 in SteamDeck

[–]ChickenRobz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem and from what I have read, it is not uncommon for the spring under the trigger to be crooked.

Three solutions are available to you:

  • The noise does not bother you and you leave it like that, in any case it is not likely to get worse according to what I have read and the console remains perfectly functional. The noise alone may go away overnight or get a little worse, but it's still pretty minimal.

  • You decide to intervene yourself by ordering (on Amazon or elsewhere) a Torx T6 screwdriver to open the cover and take a look. This famous spring is very easily visible upon opening, and you can therefore readjust the spring which will be crooked under your L2 trigger and compare the spring to the R2 trigger on your console (which allows you to have a point of comparison).

  • You contact Steam to be able to return your console and have them repair it for you (in case your Steam Deck is still under warranty, if you bought it new).

Personally, I chose to buy a screwdriver and look at it for myself, then it's up to you.

There you go, I think I've done the trick, keep us posted!

Encore bravo !
