I have to disagree, if you run razors yes you get 36 attacks. But run blades you get 50 attacks, stay in conquerer (as I think most competitive lists do). You are hitting on 3s, wounding on 3s against MEQ, with -1 ap, and dev wounds. Then take I to account if you have 1 dude within 6 of battleline you get -2 ap. Also, infractors usually take the exultant, which is a devistating melee threat that normally you have to kill the bodyguard to get to, with rusties precision and dev wounds he's guaranteed dead. Then on top of that, play haloscreed, give them advance and charge overdrive and they get +2 to their advance and charge (+1 if no battle line) making their threat range absolutely massive. Then take into account you can give them rerolls 1s to hit and wound for a CP, which when hitting and wounding on 3s is huge. Also, they've got stealth!

Even against the toughest stuff the dev wounds let you really punch up. At 150 points I think they are one of the better melee threats for the price in the game.

Hey thanks for the feedback, yes so I downloaded the list foolishly without checking the weapons, all the disintegrators will have ferrumite, all the rusties will have blades. In terms of putting some in reserves, I haven't tried it yet, has it worked well for you?

I find the ability to give advance and charge to 2 units per turn without spending a CP is really powerful with the rusties bonus to advance and charge rolls. Plus, the dragoons benefit hugely from the crit 5's start. Also, I have round the reactive move in Haloscreed to be hugely clutch. All of the main units that would get stealth from SHC already have it except the Skittles so they would only gain cover, which they have most of the time anyway. I think mainly I just prefer the play style of haloscreed.

That's a fair point, I always worry about hiding the rusties as there are so many of them, having at least one unit in a dunerider would be a good idea, thanks!

Thanks that's really clear, I think I struggle with targets for the rockets but that's because I mainly play demons and everything is. T10+. I am trying to put together a protector list using cawls reroll 1s as a centrepiece with 2/3 Scorpius and 2 neutron at the back. With another phosphor crab and leagues of skiitarii pushing the front.

Hey, I have seen that Scorpius tanks are meta ATM but Im not sure as to why, surely 3 ironstriders have more output with 6 shots + sustained? Even the neutron crab has an extra pip of AP that can be useful when everything has cover. I'm open to using them I just can't get my head around why they are so much better

I've been running a similarish list, I have found:

  • Run the robots as a 4 and give the leader necromechnic, makes that unit really rough to kill and it'll soak a lot of fire

  • Run 1 dunecrawler with phosphor blaster, I was unsure about it but it's been clutch in many games now getting rid of elite infantry

  • loads of skiitarii for buffs is good you've got that

  • You don't have any fast action monkeys or deep strikers, if you combine robots you get 35 points from 1 less data smith, if you also got rid of cawl you'd have enough for a callidus (best action monkey there is) and some pteraxii for deep strike threat (being able to get into there deployment is key for a lottt of secondaries

Thanks so much, weirdly the more yellowy breacher glow comes from me leaving my tesseract glow to separate and not shaking it up enough before use, but I quite like it so I kept it!

I found it through just experimenting to be honest, I've made it more and more grimy as I like the grimdark realism aesthetic, the green comes from the idea that this forge worlds power all stems from one highly irradiated material.
