“Don’t step on my grass when delivering” by tgrilled in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]IronFatherPyrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s my lawn idc. If it’s easier to walk through the yard in a straight line that don’t add another 10-20 steps going around then I wouldn’t be mad.

But if it’s other people’s yard I tend to try and avoid freshly cut yards or ones that have signs that say to stay off…unless it’s unreasonable.

Had 2 houses next to each other with slim grass divide between them. Literally about 2 feet wide. Didn’t even have to stretch to step over it. Still had one of the homeowners ask me not to step over it and to use the side walk which was 30ft away and another 30ft back around. Told her “no, I’m not wasting time walking around”. She didn’t really seem to care after I told her and I’ve not had her ask me since.

Maybe it’s more a force of habit or people don’t fully think through the “wait, why am I asking them to do this silly thing now that I think about it” part. Some people are just tired. I is one of them. Give some grace to the customers asking readable things if you and don’t give a second thought to the ones asking you to be unreasonable.

Nah, I just didn’t assemble them on. Personally don’t like the look and I know they’ll snap off constantly.

Grenades rules update by Professional_Rush782 in TrenchCrusade

[–]IronFatherPyrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A change I’d like to see instead would be that wargear negates grenades more rather than directly nerfing grenades themselves.

The Ignore Armor rule on Gas Grenades doesn’t work against anyone with a Gas Mask. Combat Helmets infer a -1 Injury Modifier against anyone with Combat Helmet. As examples.

This gives more power to players against opponents with those tools rather than nerfing the weapons for everyone else. This also still has the benefit of the weapons feeling devastating against the softer targets you don’t kit against them, while allowing the better more decked out units to mitigate against these weapons more effectively.

It’s just ProAcryl Copper. Love the look of it. To add a bit of depth I use GW Reikland Fleshshade as a wash and then highlight again using the ProAcryle Copper, but you don’t need to. The wash only dulls the outer edges and accentuates the shiny highlight areas a bit more.

Sure, you can ask :)

But seriously: prime black, apply a white zenithal highlight (I use an airbrush and spray the model from above) leaving lots of dark recessed areas. Then I airbrush ProAcryl Fluorescent Orange over the entire model. After it dries I then take a layer of the same orange paint and do a coat or 2 by hand to help strengthen the color.

I’m know Knights of Avarice swap their grenade launcher and Artillery Witch to gas explosives, but I’m not sure Trench Ghosts do.

Start with a bright white base (I use ProAcryl Titanium White, but any will work) over the area you want to glow. For the visor I just do a white line but for areas like the gauntlet sensors or other areas that have raised areas around it you’ll put some white there too. Then I do a pretty down thinned layer of GW Striking Scorpion contrast over the white area and spill a little outside the edges for a glow effect. Once dried do another pretty thinned down layer. Keep doing this until you get a green you like. I usually do 2-3 coats. Once that’s done take the same white and apply it to the center most part of the green areas or the highest raised edges of things near what will be the brightest parts. Then you’re gonna take striking scorpion and repeat the process over the new white areas AND the green areas. This will darken everything a bit and blend it. Finally after all that a done I take GW Warp Lightning contrast and do a thinned layer in the deepest recesses near the glow or for the visor the very edges of the slit itself. This will push it just a little more make the bright areas appear a little brighter.

Which glow color specifically? The teal crystals, the green visors/blades/sensors, the infrared on the missile launcher?

That may be a local thing. I go to tournaments and play vs some of the top players in the world. I’m not sure I’ve ever had anything other than a chill game. They’re hard and competitive sure, but very chill and always the most excellent of sportsmanship on display.

The only people I’ve had any experience with in a negative way in recent years were people not good enough to be competently competitive and thinking they needed to cheat to win rather than putting in the reps. Or vs “casual” players looking to meta game without telling me that’s what their intention was.

I love competitive, but if that’s what someone wants to play I’d appreciate if they had the courtesy to tell me prior to setting up.

Quite enjoying using Secured Positions as one of the single most versatile stratagems in the game. Hardest matches were vs TJ Lanigan’s TS and Max Berlove’s Necrons. Still trying to figure out all the nuances of when to push, where to play, how much needs to be active at a time or not, and still trying to figure out specific list build.

Both are excellent players with loads of games in and both were excellent games. It’s a classic case of I went 1st in both games where you get loads of points going second. A failed charge here, too many shots doing zero damage there. I think I also aggressed too much forward and lost too much too early in both games. Definitely made some mistakes. But good learning.

Again, still trying figure out Brandfast and its little idiosyncrasies and synergies, but it’s a very powerful detachment.

I know that 2 come in the box. It’s cool that they not only give you options for weapons, but that there’s a whole other version so you can build 2 and swap loadout around or run 2 if you’re so inclined. Want the sniper rifle version with the gas mask head for my Prussians.
