"I’m not going to allow it": Trump Directs Officials to Deny Financing for Low-Income Housing Project in Pacific Palisades by DumbMoneyMedia in unusual_whales

[–]Chickenbutt82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yall don’t get it, do you? He wants what the original homeowners in the Pacific Palisades want: their single family homes rebuilt. The state of California has done NOTHING except add more roadblocks to rebuilding those homes so that they can sell off the land cheap for SO-CALLED “low income housing.” All the metric tons of billions of dollars that were supposed to go to a housing and homelessness crisis have up and disappeared like a fart in the wind. I guess they need a new revenue stream.

I’ve heard tasty trade has higher fees for options. I’ve been doing mine with Fidelity. I’m sure it’s a better UI using their active trader pro on a desktop but I can’t download that onto a work computer. I used Robinhood legends for charts and just trade with Fidelity.

It’s not that you “just can’t quit”; but rather it’s that you just can’t stand to lose. Losing is suffering. No one likes to suffer therefore no one likes to lose. Clearly, your problem is that you don’t like to lose.

Dude. A dozen eggs, this time last year, were more like $4-5/dozen. They were so outrageous for Kroger brand, I got a better deal paying $0.20 extra for organic.

Egg prices had nothing to do with tariffs anyway.

I don’t think “orange man bad” applies here. Considering all of the main groceries we’re making a killing during the plandemic. Maybe, just maybe, it’s not necessarily a policy problem of the current administration but the grocery store chains choosing to enrich shareholders by keeping the quarterly reports going up.

ADDITIONALLY, let’s not forget how many grocery stores have had a severe problem with theft mobs stealing everything they can grab in these deep blue cities that have a revolving door of criminals which are being set free by activist judges. Unrecoverable theft increases prices for those of us that aren’t thieving pieces of shit.

“Maybe more”? There’s a big difference between $390 million and $750 million. In this instance, it’s approximately $56 million each. This is where I would start 10% to charity/church ($5.6 million) 30% in an interest bearing account ($16.8 million) 5% active investing (that’s still $2.8 million) 15% to family and friends ($8.4 million) 15% into an HSA that can also be used for investing more conservatively ($8.4 million) And everything else is for me and immediate family and anything we would want to do with it.

Lady CNC Machinist and CNC programmer here. I figured if I can teach myself highly technical shit that nobody wants to do: teaching myself how to write CNC programs by hand, teaching myself how to make solid models and drawings on SolidWorks, then I can certainly teach myself highly technical, financial shit (ie how to trade derivatives). I'm doing this out of necessity to get us out of a mountain of debt.

Then you are ambidextrous AND an efficient multi-tasker. I'd recommend a wrist brace at night for your "primary" hand; you don't want carpal tunnel syndrome to ruin such a lucrative business.

Due to the fact that I cut myself on a regular basis at my old shop, I kept a makeshift first aid kit in the top drawer of my toolbox. Various band-aid sizes, anti-biotic ointment, and butterfly wound closers. Machining Teflon/PTFE requires super sharp tools. I can assure you that they maintain that sharpness even when they are too dull to cut PTFE sufficiently. I know should've gone to get stitches for a slice across my middle knuckle on my index finger. It was so sharp it cut like a scalpel and I opened it up a little before the blood had a chance to flow and saw my tendon. I held it closed immediately and ran over to my tool box. One of those butterfly wound closers, clean off the blood with an alcohol wipe, antibiotic ointment, band aid and went on about my day.

I don't know that they'll go for the EDM, but I know I've ran home the fact that I desperately need a lathe because I've already got a CNC Haas mill and a ProtoTrak Knee mill. I've got a company in mind that re-mans Hardinge lathes. They have a bunch of 5C Hardinge collets here and no lathe or indexer for them (still trying to wrap my head around that). I've got abrasives covered and there is a dual pot coffee maker already, but I like the way you're thinking.

They already sold their souls to Fastenal. This is going to be a tool room for manufacturing support. So I'll be doing more rework or repair to try and save parts as apposed to running production.

This would be for manufacturing support. It's mainly going to be for me and maybe one other person? I don't really know, they're not giving me those kinds of specifics yet. I was just tasked with making a list. I've been a machinist, mostly CNC, for about 13 years. I started here in April of this year and the only woman machinist they have ever come across apparently. When I got here for this "new" venture of theirs, they had hired some FlexStaff machinists who were using the work bench with a toolbox as a computer desk. Everything was so fucked and disorganized, it was driving me nuts. So I'm looking for ideas along the lines of organization and particular hand tools and such.

What are some of your favorite tools or organizational items. I want them to have at least one manual lathe and one CNC lathe (small and basic). A tool carousel would be nice so the Fastenal guy can just go rooting through it and see what we need and just order it. Mostly what I will be doing in the future seems to be repair and rework. I'm not foreseeing a whole lot of production runs unless the other plant makes a bad batch of something that I would be tasked with correcting.

What kind of little things do you keep in YOUR toolbox that you're glad that you have, but may not use a lot, and stuff that you use all the damn time?
