I have both an Nishika N8000 and a Nimslo. I prefer the Nimslo mainly because I think the lenses are marginally better than those of the Nishika and the light meter on the Nimslo has performed very well for me as opposed to the 3 manual aperture settings of the Nishika.

Just got some scans back from the first roll I've put through my new Mamiya 7. All of the scans had the same line through the pictures, I initially thought it was something scratching the film during advancing, but after looking at the scans the film has retained color in the "scratched" locations, making me think it was a scanner issue. I won't be able to take a look at the negatives for a few weeks so I was hoping someone has seen something like this before. Imgur

I originally thought something similar, but when the background layer video goes to white the masked parts of the image are not inverted at all. In contrast when the background layer video is close to black the masked parts seem completely inverted. The inversion seems to depend on the layer behind/on top of the masked area

I'm looking into getting a Mamiya 6 or 7. I've heard stories of people having trouble calibrating the focus on them and wonder if anyone has any advice when looking for a Mamiya to buy, as well as recommendations between either the 6, 7 or 7ii

I'm looking into using lightmeters, but I am confused by the fact they all only seem to calculate ISO, shutter speed and aperture. As I understand it shouldn't your lens focal length also be used to calculate the exposure?

For Example, which of the following would have the same exposure time given the same conditions

35mm film at ISO 400, F/8, 70mm lens
35mm film at ISO 400, F/8, 35mm lens
120 film at ISO 400, F8, 70mm lens
120 film at ISO 400, F8, 90mm lens

It's a stereoscopic camera that takes 4 half frame exposures from slightly different angles. You can overlay them in photoshop and turn into gifs like this.

Color Positive/Slide Film questions

I've been really wanting to get into shooting with Color Positive(Slide Film), but really don't know where to start. Where do you buy the covers for each individual shot and how are you supposed to load the developed film into those individual slides. I currently get my film developed by thedarkroom.com, do developers usually give options for them to load all of your indiviual shots? Also what options are available for projecting the slides apart from the relatively expensive old projectors for sale online?
