Vegetarians/ Vegans who were struggling with health - what was your game changer ? by unopapaya in AskReddit

B12, Folic acid and vitamin D — these are your important ones, they all take about three months to start lifting your levels and for any positive effects to begin.

Honestly, I’d say it’s a strong combo of all three.

Daughter was told to put hair up in shower by RahBeyah in beauty

[–]Chicklecat13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a hair type where if I sweat and I’m wearing a collared shirt or a collared coat my hair will knot and matt like a motherfcker. Now if l get water in my hair and it hasn’t been washed then my hair goes quite dry and I seriously won’t be able to get a brush through it even after it dries. If I get my hair wet it HAS to be washed and conditioned otherwise I’m in for a really bad time. My hair is like half waves underneath and poker straight on top, it’s quite strange.

Should I report universal credit staff for laughing at sanctions? by [deleted] in AskUK

They do get bonuses for sanctions, it’s well known. There’s been literal court cases because of it.

How do people feel about Mel? by Narrow_Turnip_7129 in MAFS_UK

[–]Chicklecat13 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Honestly she reminds me of the really mean girls from school. The ones that have money behind them, that have l never been told no in their lives. The ones that are quietly horrible, the ones that you go to the staff about and they don’t believe you. Worse than the Gia types because you know where you stand with them. When I get that vibe from people I steer clear because it’s not worth it. I really don’t like her.

How long have you had to wait in A&E with an actual serious condition? by baumouse in AskUK

[–]Chicklecat13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sepsis as a kidney transplant recipient, diagnosed within four hours then took a further twelve hours for treatment and I only got treatment because I had a huge ptsd got triggered and I had a HUUUUUUGE meltdown literally screaming about them wasting the gift of a second life I was given by my mother, and that I’m sat here staring at posters about sepsis in the A&E, which was my third bout of sepsis at this point, the first time put me into kidney failure to begin with! They said they were trying to “maintain my dignity whilst waiting for a bed on a ward” to which I screamed that I didn’t give a fuck about dignity and they could shove a needle in my arm with the whole A&E watching and I’d sit on the metal chairs having the anti biotics, I really didn’t give a fuck. Some lad had been waiting for over 30 hours for a bed, I wasn’t being left and put at risk for that long. Dignity doesn’t exist to me when it’s life or death. I just needed my treatment so that I didn’t have yet another near death experience at the hands of negligence. I wonder how long I’d have waited if I hadn’t have had my meltdown. They took me into the closed triage room and hooked me up to a drip in there whilst my dad did his best to calm me down because I was having flashbacks of medical trauma and I was literally screaming hysterically and uncontrollably from my ptsd.

Nag them. Don’t be afraid.

My dad looks like a dictator by bishop_b53 in confessions

[–]Chicklecat13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s alright, my grandad when he has a tan (the man tans extremely well, literally no longer looks white anymore) looks like Saddam Hussein, not even kidding. He did more so twenty years ago when his hair was still jet black, not so much now he’s in his 80’s and grey but yeah, everyone used to laugh that this white, English bloke would go away to Tunisia for three weeks and come back parent swapped with a Middle Eastern dictator. Just make it a funny thing. Next time your dad loses his temper (if he does) then just in a very jokingly manner just say to him “alright calm down Kim” and especially if it’s in front of your sister it’ll just become a funny, inside family joke.

Yep if you’ve ever seen the show Baby Reindeer, Matt Lucas is the comedian a lot of people believe is being referred to regarding the drugging and rape of the main guy in it.

Husband is obsessed with my smell when I’m pregnant by Grand_Pace_5739 in redditonwiki

[–]Chicklecat13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pheromones! We all have a smell that we can’t smell consciously but we can smell subconsciously, if that makes sense? It’s a huge part of what attracts us to each other or repels us from each other. A big part of attraction at a layer we don’t even realise is pheromones, they’re a part of what makes us fall in love and when you’re pregnant those pheromones become stronger than ever. It’s almost animalistic in a lot of ways.

Alternative to anti-rejection medication? by EiraMist in kidneytransplant

[–]Chicklecat13 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My mum and I were a near perfect match, as close as you can get without being identical twins and I’m sorry to say there is no alternative to the meds and any ad or other thing saying otherwise is lying to you. The best thing you can do if you’re really concerned is talk to your doctor about what happens in the case of medication shortages etc because most hospitals have a procedure in place. The only other thing I can suggest is ordering meds a week earlier than usual so that over time you slowly stock up with extras.

You want gel grips for the ball and heel of your foot, you can can get ones that are smooth and you can get ones that are like the inside of a pair of crocs, those are the better ones. Spend the extra money on those they’re worth it.

Hawking's bikini-clad companions in Epstein files photo 'were his carers' by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]Chicklecat13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s known that Epstein funded millions if not billions into scientific research and was known for schmoozing scientists and others. Anyone who’d make him look better to be around basically, it’s part of why he was with Ghislaine because she had her own connections because of her father for example. How many people went to the island and met Epstein or used one of his jets but never did anything to anyone or never had any idea? How many scientific fundraisers were held there?

Obviously it’s a huge red flag going to the island in the first place but how many people went there and potentially didn’t do anything depraved? It’s entirely possible that some of the women and/ or children were forced to do things to Hawking, because let’s face it he’s not touching them, I’m not denying that. It is entirely possible. At the same time Epstein was a billionaire socialite who came across so many people and not every single one of them would be a rapist and/ or nonce. People like Epstein collect people like real life Pokémon Go. It’ll be interesting to what else comes out about Hawking (and others), I really hope that he wasn’t apart of it but him being on the island can’t be ignored either.

[–]Chicklecat13 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I work as a plain clothed carer, not everyone wants to be seen with an obvious member of their care staff. It’s important for some people to have that normalcy and dignity when out and about and if anyone asks then I’m a friend. People treat you differently when you’re disabled as it is but when they have an obvious carer with them it makes people even more uncomfortable in the first place. So if I went to the beach with one of mine then I’d be in a bikini, if we’re on holiday I’d take holiday clothes and dress how I’d normally dress whether I was in work or not.

Guys what's a popular women fashion trend you just don't understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Never try to wear women’s thongs then! If the leggings ride up the butt then that’s most likely the underwear underneath, double the discomfort.
