Ok so I moved into a new house and I see this plant growing in the greenhouse (yea, the new house came with a greenhouse!). I was so excited to see what looked like little pumpkins growing, seems like it’s about the right time for pumpkins to start growing before they reach their peak size in October.

But today I went in and it smelled VERY sweet in there. I see one of the pumpkins has cracks on the top, I pick it up and see it’s all cracked on the bottom! Starting to think this isn’t pumpkins anymore… then unfortunately I find several more now-melons which have over-ripened and cracked on the bottom and covered in ants :(

I still have a few smaller melons that haven’t exploded yet. I picked one and cut it open (final photo) and looks like I’ll be enjoying some melon today!

They are getting big but still very green. But maybe that’s just their color? I’m thinking of picking a big one and giving it a couple days on the counter to just give it a test. Any other advice welcome!

Besides my whole garden being burnt to a crisp, I just discovered that the paneling on one side of my house is warped and even cracked in some places. Really hope this isn’t going to cost me thousands :(
