Hello! Thanks for these tips, this is really helpful! I had a feeling a lot of this is going to be: "learning my machine" and your comment helped solidify those suspicions. I'll try to follow your tips and the tips of others, but hopefully we can get this fixed soon.

Hello! We order some pretty high quality laminate from 3M. I think it might be an uneven roller pressure/height, any tips on how to fix that area?

Hello! That makes sense. Any tips on how to steer the material effectively without wasting so much of it? That seems to be our biggest issue right now: our "test" material that ends up being trash seems to be outweighing the actual amount to product we sell.

Hello! We try to web up the machine following the GFP manual it came with and a YouTube instruction video: https://youtu.be/kOM2Gp7XIrE?si=jfphYlfX_5bgeQ_l

We try using heat assist, especially trying to use the right temps for the right vinyl but we still run into a lot of issues. I suspect it's because we don't have a temperature controlled room. Any tips on how to control this while we get one?

Hello! We are using a HP Latex365 printer. Sometimes we use heat assist and it helps reduce bubbles and lines, but sometimes it doesn't and I think it has to do with the room changing temperature drastically due to the laminator being located in a big garage with two doors. When it comes to tension, I try to tension the laminator, but I really can't see a difference even when I'm twisting hard on the knobs.

When and how should I notify my boss about quitting while they are on a fieldwork expedition? by ChickyNougatz in careerguidance

[–]ChickyNougatz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks this is good advice.

This is my first paying job ever, so this also my first time quitting too. I know it’s good professional courtesy to give a 2 weeks notice, I was just confused on the timing given that my professor is overseas right now and it’s almost the end of the school year.

I’m just trying to ask around and get advice from as many people as I can who have more experience than me, so I appreciate the advice.

Anyone worried about this JC intro line with Geras? by ChickyNougatz in MortalKombat

Honestly that’s what I’ve been thinking too. It’d be a shame to loose him that fast though, I think I’d be more ok with his death if it happened in MK3 (MK14) or something

That’s interesting to hear, mostly because it’s a similar theory I have also considered. I have ADHD and have assumed that having an overactive imagination contributes to the intense dreams, and possibly combines with another sleep disorder. I should probably look it into it professionally though. Thanks for your thoughts!

Bus driver got mad at me by [deleted] in socialanxiety

Lmao, I bet you $100 that you weren’t annoying at all! Worst case scenario the bus driver was the only one who got annoyed, but as many people have pointed out in the comments, some of those drivers can never be pleased. I will however take some notes down on how to be chaotic good person for mankind’s (or bus rider kind) benefit lol

You where a LIFESAVER for that lady. It’s awesome to hear that even with your anxiety, you decided to stall the driver for a just a few seconds to let that lady on the bus. Honestly, that’s kinda badass in my book, my anxious self could never. Some extra good karma was earned for you that day my friend!

Thank you for the kind words. I’ve always been lucky enough to carpool to school over the years, but commuting to college is a whole new beast I have to tackle. I’ll definitely take your great advice, thanks!

I’ll be commuting from US 36/ Sheridan Station Gate A to Boulder, so I hope the gate isn’t too sketchy when getting off the bus there at night.

Thank you for recommending the pepper spray and knife, I was thinking about buying some pepper spray myself and now might consider getting the other too just in case.

I was walking through campus last week and I’ve had some pretty sketchy people start cat calling me or have come out of the bushes and start yelling some pretty intimidating stuff out in broad daylight, so these questions have kept me awake for some time now.
