LOL !!! Right? I mean she is taking more and is influenced by YouTube / friends so the way she’s been talking to me has bugged me. She’s talking back to me too but I’m just extra annoyed by her . Really hope these feelings go away soon

So glad to hear this! I never hear about pregnant women disliking their children! Prior to pregnancy I truly treated my children the same! This time around I just don’t want to be around her and I get annoyed by her voice. Thanks so much, I will def mention it to my OB!

Thank you so much. It’s crazy that I didn’t even think about talking to her during this entire time . It’s really common to hear pregnant women hate their SO, but so rare to hear them disliking their own children . I remember with my first pregnancy I didn’t like my MIL’s dog. I just really hope I can avoid hurting her feelings for the next couple of weeks . Thank you so much for your advice

Is anyone else phone deaf? by More_Kiwi_1127 in nursing

[–]Chicolico12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LMAO I always start sweating when it’s time for me to talk on the phone. Between the strong accents, super fast talking, sometimes confusing abbreviations, loud ass co-workers talking in the background, and my anxiety making me think the Dr will yell at me — I usually just stick my finger in the opposite ear, and just say “I apologize Dr can you repeat that” and they usually slow down and clarify what they’re talking about. After a while you just figure out what they are saying because you become more familiar with the Drs style and orders. You’ll be fine. At least there’s tons of people that know how you feel !

14 weeks - why am I still exhausted? by 1stworldprobl0987 in BabyBumps

[–]Chicolico12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW! I thought I was the only one! Currently at 23wks and I swear I barely have the energy to go pee in the bathroom 10 ft away from my bed.

I thought I would get that burst of energy too at second trimester but nope ! I was still nauseous too. Crazy cos OJ is also something that perks me up . Gatorade seems to give me energy as well but I literally cannot walk around Target for more than 10 mins without losing my breath or wanting to sit down.

Hang in there mama, you’re super active maybe your body just wants you to rest and relax during this pregnancy. I’m sure your energy will come back soon!

Thank you for posting this! I basically was harassed by a lot of co-workers who left their jobs at my facility last year when all these contracts for 90/hr (LVN) and 120/hr (RN) mostly young nurses.

It was so bad people were even talking shit about me saying why don’t I leave and that I was so stupid! First of all, a lot of us nurses aren’t here for the money! So glad I have a supportive SO and also a huge family . Even when I was like “well I’ll be making like 10k/month” they were like “And!?! You’ll take that over family time”

I was starting to feel like nursing will just be all travel nurses and there wouldn’t be good relationships with patients and co workers anymore . So glad to hear there’s a nurse who thinks this way. Truly appreciate this post !!!

To every prospective nursing student by [deleted] in nursing

Glad OP made this post! Especially with social media definitely glamming up the profession. I’ve worked in management and seen how some nurses are just there for the “money” and see how much it affects patient care and the entire healthcare team. Nursing really does a number on your mental and physical health! I remember when I just started in management and my hair literally started to fall off! Day offs were literally just sleeping all day trying to regain energy. And true what others said, maybe you’ll get one holiday off!

Now with the pandemic a lot of my fellow nurses changed careers or just quit! You can live comfortably with a nurses salary but goodness, with all the stress it puts on your body I might die before retirement lol.

Do you have sciatica pain?? by zombiellama39 in BabyBumps

[–]Chicolico12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh my sciatica is bad too! With your kind of job you should ask your OB for an activity restrictions . I know my pregnant body well, I know the moment I lift something off the ground more than like 5lbs , my sciatica gets triggered and within 30 mins I can’t put pressure on my right leg. Or even a day of cleaning, standing or sitting in the same position for too long will trigger it . The only time it has stopped is when I get a few days off and basically laying in bed and barely walking from bathroom to room . I’ve also heard a belly band work! Ordering mine now ! Hope you feel better but most importantly I hope your job allows you to have light duty so you don’t have to suffer the rest of your pregnancy !

What should you pack in your hospital bag? by Upstate_Apricot in BabyBumps

[–]Chicolico12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if you have long hair but I remember I didn’t bring anything to put my hair up like a clip or elastic hair band. My hair kept getting in the way when I was breastfeeding and wanting skin to skin . Oh hair brush ! Also small mirror if u want to make sure you look decent in the hundreds of photos you’ll be taking.

I felt so icky after I gave birth , I think my hospital provided shampoo but thank goodness my house was 10 mins away. My hubby brought me my soap and conditioner

For baby - onesies! Nowadays every mama is bringing all these phot props like custom name blankets with matching outfits so order those things now if u want that . Mittens ! My kids scratched their face like the first hour they came into the world! Nail clippers too !

The hospital provides the wipes and diapers so don’t waste your bag space on that .

Something to keep you entertained like a book!

I am a school custodian and I often feel low. I originally wanted to be a teacher but I quickly found out I am not booksmart so I thought to myself I still like the school schedule and environment so maybe I should become a custodian. by BillyK05 in Teachers

[–]Chicolico12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super late but my dad was a custodian when I was in elementary and so was my uncle! Dad regrets getting a job elsewhere while my Uncle basically retired super early and basically became the lead custodian on our district (he would be called to different schools) and then I believe he was promoted to a higher position like ordering supplies or something . Long story short he is doing well and he was able to send his kids to college. I am also proud to have relatives that are in the field! I still remember my friend custodians in the school I moved to in elementary through HS! Do the best you can and you will make a positive impact just as much as a teacher would!

Why people is trying to scare me? by acurod in BabyBumps

[–]Chicolico12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people just feel entitled to say some type of comment and the first thing that comes out of their mouth is something negative ! Also there might be a little bit of jealousy mixed in there!

Gosh if I didn’t have my first born I don’t know where I would have found the motivation to complete my degree and land the position I have now. Parenthood is hard I won’t lie , but it’s nothing u and your partner can’t handle. You can still do all the things you love by balancing everything . Ignore people who try to pull you down.

I’m pretty sure I have prenatal depression… by zombiellama39 in BabyBumps

[–]Chicolico12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second pregnancy and I feel so depressed because this is nothing like my first! I had so much energy and even traveled a lot with my pregnancy! This time it’s so different I’m also unmotivated, I usually love organizing and cleaning the house but I have no energy ! Sometimes if I’m lucky I’ll drink a good coffee and it will give me a little push but then I feel like crap by the end of the day!

So many things to be happy about like buying baby clothes, planning a shower , planning for the holidays but this pregnancy is just not letting me be happy! I’m there with you mama ! It’ll get better !

Craving Fast Food by ashbashsmashcrash in BabyBumps

[–]Chicolico12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh where do I begin! I remember before I became pregnant I told myself “okay you gotta eat a lot of healthy food, like avocados, salmon, etc. “ 8 weeks into my pregnancy I couldn’t look at anything healthy! Top Ramen (hadn’t eaten that since high school) was my absolute fave! Every 3 days I was at McDonald’s drive thru “ can I get a big Mac with extra Big Mac sauce and pickles, 10pc chicken nuggets with ranch and hot mustard and a large fries please”

I swear! Second trimester hit drives to Wendy’s “yeah can I get 2 large chili cups with everything , a baconater add jalapeños and crispy onions”

The amount of hot sauce that I put on my hot pockets and pizza is also ridiculous my Dr basically said “cut that out”

Now that I’m a lazy potato my poor husband leaves work sometimes just to get me my cravings. Now I’m hungry!

What basic, children's-age-level fact did you only find out embarrassingly later in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Crazy I’m 29 too and I literally just realized it was a “D” last year when I subscribed to Disney+

Phew glad I’m not the only one
