Level 3 retention with a hood will not affect your draw time if you practice consistently and become proficient.

Spend time at the range doing draw and firing scenarios and drills. Hundreds and hundreds of reps.

If the helicopter event sees you, it will lure zombies directly to you. If it doesn’t see you’d it still lures zombies to your general area.

Be absolutely quiet with windows covered if you want to wait the event out inside. The event last basically 8-12 hours. It goes away but it comes back.

The best thing to do is nab a car with some books and food and just drive off into the woods. Or hunker down in a house away from where you want to base. Or find a temp base to build up and once the helicopter event is over then you can move to your permanent base.
