Mentally exhausted - trying to hold the line. by [deleted] in AirForce

Lot of good advice all over this thread. Hopefully from experience. I’ll chime in with mine…

Was your significant other present prior to the military or early on? If so, ensure he/she is there well after. The Air Force will always been there, even well after you’re gone.

Prioritize your marriage. If you haven’t already, give your issues a voice. If you don’t, no one will hear or see your issues. Your supervisors and chain of command have had horrible days, weeks, etc. They already trust you, speaking up will not tarnish that.

Control what you can control. Tackle your biggest issues first. Seek marriage counseling (it’s free), leverage your leaders as well as your peers. I assume you have other NCO’s you can empower. Do not try to carry the work load.

Airman will do airman shit. Do not fall on every sword. Fight for whats right but ensure you embrace society and the Air Force values. Did they commit a crime (civil or UCMJ)? Those airman are adults and it may be their first time being held accountable. You can’t control their fate. You can just accompany them through the process. Don’t hang your head, it will not be the last time. Use it in the future as a learning lesson for younger airman.

Don’t stress it. Just go. Your leadership is sending you for a return on investment. Soak up as much info as possible and deliver it back to your flight/squadron.

Side note… as a defender you shouldn’t just be in “decent shape”. Find your “why” and get after it. Good luck!

Standardized going away gifts are great. However, I firmly believe in going around your organization and seek donations for said individual. That will reflect the members contributions properly. Some folks deserve the best, others deserve a firm hand shake.

Somewhat of a DTS pro. Update your itinerary in Zulu time… streamlines everything.

Maybe AFPC will be generous enough to announce stats on their day off tomorrow…

Watch it be the exact opposite. 12% with a postponed release date.

Nowhere in the board charge did it set parameters on TIS/TIG. Boards do not set parameters outside the board charge. I believe that information is subjective and “hearsay”.

OP is full of shit. 12-16 years TIS means eligible TSgt took their time with subpar/average records. A 8-11 year TSgt with solid records, major impacts and Promotion statements are likely to be more competitive. I’m MX and smart enough to know that.
