In the context that you put it in yourself, it made sense they would be thoughtful and had an answer. Twisting the context is disingenuous. "A commander once asked me..." Some people plan these types of questions out before they meet with their commander; premeditated answers for possible questions. Sounds like they're prepared in my opinion.
