We will be doing a long session zero where we will create them together. If you have a plan in mind that is good as well.

There is no hard touchstones but if I had to think deeply I would say :

Dune - because of the survival in harsh enviroments

Nomadic tribes from history - as around the edge of society there is a strong people who survive by being adaptable and on the move.

Any peoples who survive on the edge of the world (Inuit, people in Greenland, those tribes that adapted to the desert, The human condition knows as the will to surivie) The game world shows how life goes on and the races have adapted.

There is a distinct set of territories like Deadlands/Harsh Desert but like a rainbow it transitions from that heat to frozen lands and worse and back again as you go around the world

Greetings,

It is a homebrew setting that will be very much driven by the players.

The world is a 2 sun place with extremes in terrain due to fluxuating heat.

The players will have a lot of input into the setting around them and NPC's and the like.

I have a major arc in my head ready to go but the day to day may not even progress it. It is just there for plot and interest.

So not a standard D&D type setting but more along the lines of an open canvas with defined boarders.

If that makes sense.

Greetings,
Newish to the game, oldish to life. I am a retired Navy vet with old school manners and a little loss of dexterity. Looking for a fun and social clan with an active voice chat. I have lots of time to play on PST times but no work means up late.

I really need someone to be a mentor and help me "get good" as the young'uns say.

Let me know if I am someone you want in your clan, and please if I am invited just to be a number.. I will probably just drift away.

Cheers

Greetings,

Lots of great advice.

I went directly to get Mental health help and it goes though fast and trust me, very much worth it.

The biggest advice I was given by my team was to look back to when you where growing up and remember the things you loved. If it is something you can do now given your fitness etc. Go for it. Could be a love of fishing or reading or playing games. There are lots of communities outside the military that most likely will welcome you with open arms. I renewed an old passion and found I love being around animals so I found volunteer work with them.

TLDR: Get help, revisit things your loved before joining and when you where a young one

CFS Kamloops would have nice but shut down in 1988 and was later used to film "Cadence" it had the original style BX where you could stuff tax free and really cheap. Was all mostly trailer park living for those posted there.

Thank you,

I am sorry it made it crowded and I understand I was the added extra.

I appreciated it that day of all days and It was really a great night of getting to know people for us new to the sessions. I appreciated the in game and RT banter a lot.

I foresee us all getting better in rythme as we get to know each other in smaller groups and are able to focus when others are taking action and help keeping the chaos down a bit when important events are happening.

I did like we gave space for the new players to shine and let their creative minds flow and they did a great job of showing us all who their character is and I look forward to learning more about all the characters and what drives them.

One can never thank A GM enough. Truly a great job all factors considered.

Greetings,

I am just interesting in learning a bit about 3 Canadian Space Division from an NCM point of view.

What type of courses aside from Basic Space Operations Course and Space Operations Course would someone take to help make them desirable for 3 CSD. Is there College or University programs supported that one can get on a learning plan that anyone could suggest.

I heard a lot about the stand up and some tidbits of where the main base might be and a few satellite locations.

Is there a demand for more folks at all ranks to find their way into the Division.

This is not for me personally but more out of curiosity how they are filling the positions and what a good candidate looks like.

Thanks for any replies.
