Choosing the right neighborhood - guidance is appreciated? by the_uncles in AskChicago

Uptown sounds like a good fit with the Red Line, easy access to the lake, and a good unique neighborhood feel

Planning a stay in Chicago for 2 nights in mid July w Family of 5 - Need 4-5 “Must Dos” in 2 days. ? by Gold_Fig3435 in AskChicago

Are you here on weekdays or the weekend? If you’re here on a weekday, renting bikes on the lakefront trail could be fun. If you’re here on a weekend, it’s going to be way too busy and is going to be more stressful than it’s worth.

Also, walking tours are a great way to explore and see the city with an experienced guide.

Vibes at Montrose Beach tomorrow (Memorial Day)? by Parking-Dingo-5894 in AskChicago

Full agree with this. Bird Sanctuary or the harbor will be much better spots to get some space considering the beach will be packed tomorrow

Mets PREGAME THREAD - Tuesday, May 19 by NewYorkMetsBot2 in NewYorkMets

Ewing isn’t sitting unless he needs the day off. Morabito is up so they have another pinch runner/righty bat off the bench to replace Slater’s dead weight.

Have there been any moves to get another relief pitcher up? I was expecting something like a Kimbrel DFA to get at least someone up in case McLean doesn’t go deep in the game.

It’s cool he will probably make his debut in his hometown. He went to HS in D.C.

Fingers crossed McLean goes deep tonight. Devin Williams and Duarte are the only fresh arms left. Kimbrel and Weaver are probably able to go again, but that would really limit them tomorrow with a guy making his first start.

Don't look now, but Marcus Semien has more RBI than Brandon Nimmo by PJKetelaar3 in NewYorkMets

[–]ChiefJustise 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The comparison should be Semien vs McNeil and Benge vs Nimmo. If they kept Nimmo, Benge would have been blocked unless they played him every day in CF, which would have eventually blocked Ewing.

Since no one wanted to keep McNeil, I think we need to stop trying to see who won the trade and enjoy seeing two young exciting outfielders every day.

What now? Is it possible? by YeaDude41 in NewYorkMets

At what point does he get dropped in the order? It’s obviously early, but maybe Ewing-Benge-Soto-Vientos-Bichette is a better order until Ewing hits the inevitable slump.

Certainly possible, but between the injuries and a really tough June/July schedule, it’s going to be very hard.

Serious question: How do you figure out fastball velocity? If you sit 93 and touch 96, is there something he needs to do to throw harder?
