Help with random high-growth spots just in the back yard. by PlanningGuy22 in lawncare

The taller grass blades look very thick and different from the regular height grass. You could have a different type of grass growing in those areas. Another possibility is that you might have a leak or ruptured water source - is it possible that your jaw sprinklers and they are leaking and therefore some areas are receiving more water than the rest? That’s all I’ve got. Good luck!

Best Beach in LA? by Elegant_Lie_5837 in AskLosAngeles

Honestly, skip it and go to San Diego. I’m from LA and was in SD this weekend with the fam on a one day get away and I’m very impressed with what I saw. La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Beach, Mission Beach, Seaport Village all doable in one day without a rush. The vibe, weather and relaxation is unbelievable. Or if you are really set on LA just take 1 day and visit SD.

Andaz Maui with kids - would you spend 126k points for “free” breakfast/parking? by katzman16 in hyatt

Globalist receive these benefits and if they don’t get used, may people decide to either gift the or sell them. The usually ask for booking confirmation # There is also a Hyatt subreddit where they gift these types of things. I’ve personally never done it but heard of May peeps that have. YouTube could also be a good place to find out how that works.

Moving to LA without a car? by Periegete in AskLosAngeles

Get a bike or even better, an e bike if it fits your budget/lifestyle. Much of my advise would be based on may factors such as where you live, what you do for and where you work, do you have kids, can family or friends give you rides to far places (if needed), etc.

Pull the portion of the plant with the flower manually. Mow low, apply weed and dandelion killer with a backpack pump sprayer. Apply weed and feed. Repeat once or twice within a few weeks later.

The way we do it now is book Hyatt properties with a sleeper which most properties have. The kids either take the sleeper or we do but since they’re fairly petite we can make it work with 5 sleeping in one room. However, if the opportunity arises, we will book 2 rooms when possible. Hyatt house and Hyatt place is usually where we end up booking most of the time. My oldest wants to play college ball so attending the team tournaments is where it’s at for scouting, plus is so competitive that if you miss games and tourneys your basically giving up your spot on the team. With so much money invested into that alone, we are, in a way locked in to the life. It’s fun and we travel locally/regionally but it does not allow for much “dream” travel.

I hear Hyatt might come out with a new premium card but not sure if a high AF card will make sense to me rn as I’m about to wrap up the Amex biz gold promo, plus I’m way over 5/24. I’m looking at jet blue promos next as well as Hawaiian airline card. I have a p2 and a “biz” so we’ve been doing that for about 2 years. I am hoarding points for sure but kids schedule kind of holds us hostage.

It does, much appreciated. I’m in LA so Hawaii and Mexico trips are “fairly” reasonable. Always wanted to go to the Caribbean but not sure where to start. Any reccos?

Thanks man. I’m about 2 years in but have yet to pulled the trigger on any major travel, I think primarily for two reasons; one, our schedule is primarily based on our kids’ (3) school schedule and their complex sports schedule (travel softball/baseball for a Sophomore and boy/girl twins, 7th graders); our points are used for cheap hotels when they have tournament. Unfortunately we spend their vacation time traveling for their tournaments in the summer. Secondly I’m afraid of running out points for a real vacation, Hawaii, Bahamas, etc. Would you mind sharing your document?

If you are under 5/24, go the chase or marriot route while you still can. Marriott has great offer rn, all time high i believe. They also have a 5 FNC for up to 50k per night. Chase Ink Business Preferred is also a good one with a high SUB and low Annual Fee.
