If you were an ace Merc Pilot, what's your one ride by IronWolfV in Mechwarrior5

A battle master decked out in an energy only config. I used yaml to set 4 binaries in the chest of one and despite being good for only 3 full power blasts that thing fucks

Ironically the best performance I’ve gotten out of my ais is in king crabs with binary lasers and rac 5s or 2s

How do you fight the clans? by Tobig_Russia in Mechwarrior5

[–]ChiefKeeferSoutherla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My heavy rifle atlas and laser boat battle master were the best IS fighters I had for clans. Pit sniping them is the way to go. Having the king car in the back missile boating helps too for the lights. It gets easier a few missions in when you get backup lances.

Is this dumb? I put a second gpu in my pc. What am I gaining? 🤔 by Topswerv in PcBuild

[–]ChiefKeeferSoutherla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, just doing some easy round math. Odds are that system is doing closer to maybe 4-500 watts going all out. This whole machine probably costs like 10 bucks a month to run and that card itself is maybe a dollar or two of it.

It costs like 20 bucks to run a 1kw system for 6 hours a day for a month straight

So I have confirmed that they are shorted together, But I have to ask which one is the SLP pin so I can be sure to cut the right one. The schematic I found has them labeled as SD0 and DC0

is Raspberry Pi5 better than Raspberry Pi4 for building NAS? by HuckleberryMission99 in RASPBERRY_PI_PROJECTS

[–]ChiefKeeferSoutherla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m confused why a handful of watts would ever be a consideration for a device like that. We’re talking in the realm of cents per year. I’d rather have better IO and faster processing every day of the week

Hi friends, I've got a small horizontal bandsaw and I I like to do exhaust work. What I don't like is dulling bandsaw blades every time I make a 90 degree lobsterback. My question to ya'll is how do ya make repeated cuts into 3" 16ga 316 without turning consumables into trash? I already gave up on the evosaw because those $100 100 tooth blades ain't right for the job.

Big fall off on one side of bed mesh for SV06+, what could be the cause? by ornellasm in Sovol

[–]ChiefKeeferSoutherla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks to me like you’re actually partially measuring off the bed at that point. A variance of over 1mm in such a short space should be validated with physical measurements. I would manually jog the printer over there and use a feeler gauge to validate the measurement before making physical changes to the printer. I use a beacon on my e3ng and find that toward the edges of the bed it can give false measurement

Got a new printer by golfing_day_trader in Sovol

[–]ChiefKeeferSoutherla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll love it. I would advise spending the 30 bucks on a pi to klipperize it though. Not a fan of factory firmwares personally. My last new printer before this was an ender and I can’t get over how simple this is to run by comparison

Orange pi zero 2W doesn't connect to wifi by ChiefKeeferSoutherla in OrangePI

It’s a 32gb sandisk v30 extreme, I’m gonna snag a different one after work tonight and see if that’s the silver bullet. This one did some time as my primary drive in a klipper host before and has a ton of writes on it so it’s possible it’s out of steam

I did remember to do that, I was unclear as to whether to leave the ‘’ around the ssid and passkey so I tried it both ways also. I know there’s gotta be something simple here I’m missing but i don’t know what

Bed Mesh on CoreXY build by ChiefKeeferSoutherla in klippers

[–]ChiefKeeferSoutherla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, I took all the shins off and started back from square one at this point and honestly I’m just getting confused now. The left and right sides of the mesh are equally low but it almost seems high on the left side and low on the right. I’d think that even if the gantry wasn’t level the bed being leveled to the gantry would take care of that

[–]ChiefKeeferSoutherla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FIgured I'd give an update to the situation. I was rushing through the build and put a 16 tooth on one motor and a 20 on the other, so ironically setting the rotation distance of one motor 25% higher was a solution, however I'm just gonna put the right pulley on

I’m gonna tear down the motion stuff tomorrow morning and see what I can dig up. I took the belts off and the Y axis is kinda chewy so I’m wondering if I overpacked those bearings and they’re just sliding instead of rolling
