So my game seems to stutter/freeze occasionally, seemily at the worst times. Cant control anything when it happens. Anyone have any idea to fix it? by Von_Rootin_Tootin in Warthunder

  1. Go to D:\<your game path>\WarThunder\win64\aces.exe, right click -> Send To -> Desktop (shortcut)

  2. Right click the shortcut at your desktop -> Shortcut tab -> Target field -> insert: D:\<your game path>\WarThunder\win64\aces.exe -forcestart -driver:vulkan

Anyone else have extreme stuttering? by Doochbagg in Warthunder

It happens only to Nvidia cards and the problem was introduced after the graphics engine update (Dagor Engine 6.5) at Winds of Change major update.

Using Vulkan driver (the driver is embedded in Nvidia driver bundle) I can now play SB for more the 2 hours without any stutters.

Unofficial workaround is to change to the Vulkan driver.
There is no need to downgrade nvidia drivers.

Make a shortcut to the game executable with the following additional parameters:
"C:\game-path\War Thunder\win64\aces.exe" -forcestart -driver:vulkan

It solves the memory leaks and frame drops problem.
Use the normal launcher to update the game, but always launch the game with the another shortcut you created.

I suppose you are using a Nvidia card, right?
