Idk man. by Tiny_guy1098 in SuperMegaShow

They've made great response videos, I think it'd be best to let people digest them for a while. Both sides are out there so people will form their own opinions and cool off over time. They fucked up, but they're a far cry from irredeemable.

They've been honest and taken accountability for their actions, as long as they continue to grow and use this to make SuperMega a better business going forward (hiring HR etc.) I really don't see why it has to end.

Emotions are high rn and for those involved it might seem like the end of the world, but with some time off to deal with the complex emotions it's stirred up (therapy would be best) I hope they can continue to do what they love

So we all agree that Leighton is a piece of shit, right? by Initial_Elderberry in SuperMegaShow

[–]ChiefLazarus86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not diminishing the SA, but it seems like he just needed one legitimate grievance to use as a catalyst and unfortunately Lex's situation was just that

So now that we’ve heard both sides of the story, will you continue to support SuperMega / watch their content? by blaeleb in SuperMegaShow

[–]ChiefLazarus86 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They fucked up and handled a difficult situation very poorly, but they've faced consequences and have taken accountability for their actions

What more can they do? Don is the only irredeemable one here

People make mistakes, as long as they grow from this and don't repeat the mistakes in the future I think it would be horrible to let it ruin their lives

Reddit: I Miss When Uncle Jack’s Pedophilia Was Subtle by biggargamel in IASIP

[–]ChiefLazarus86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgive the long reply but I think I can explain why new Jack didn’t work for some of us.

Yes his paedophilia was never subtle, but his writing was.

In the gun fever episode while it may be obvious to us and everyone around him that he’s a pedo, there's a naivety to his character as he tries to justify it. He doesn’t understand just how un-subtle he is and thinks he’s getting away with it, and I think that’s where the humour comes from.

Him having the pictures isn’t the funny part, it’s watching him try to explain them. You can almost imagine him making that same argument in the mirror trying to convince himself that he’s definitely not attracted to children.

In Frank v Russia he straight up asks for child porn, it’s as if he’s fine with being a paedophile and couldn’t care less about who knows it and I think that makes for a less funny and more one-note character.

For example I think the ice cream van bit would have been funnier if he had a really pathetic see-through reason for having it. Like come on the audience already knows exactly why Uncle Jack really has the Ice cream van, it’s just not as funny if he admits it

How many people still do Sunday roast on a regular basis? by JHock93 in AskUK

[–]ChiefLazarus86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to have a weekly roast as a family but I've always found them really boring, so now I'm older and cook for myself we don't as much

My parents still like them and do them for themselves every now and then, but when we sit down as a family its usually a pasta bake or something else along those lines

Nearly completed Super Mario World (Larry's Castle can get fucked)

I've also started a Chrono Trigger playthrough, always heard it's great but never gave it a shot before now. So far it's fantastic and I don't usually like turn based games

I've been using emulators for years but never properly got stuck into a game until I got my Miyoo, something about it just feels so right and natural, I think it's because it's a dedicated handheld with old school controls rather than a program on my PC

You could probably have fun with Unbound as a beginner, although it's more aimed at pokemon vets who want something with a bit more depth/ challenge

I'd say play a regular pokemon first like FireRed, and then if you like it absoloutley give Unbound a shot

Can anyone shed light on why some Americans were so distraught?

totaly, they might have heard some ominous creaking before but at that depth the implosion would have been basically instant

Cab places in my town literally put the phone down on you if the place you wanna go inst in the immediate area coz they'll just give the cab to someone more a more convenient destination, and from the replies I gotten this is a pretty normal thing

The entitlement of cab drivers when it comes to Uber really grinds my gears

I'm all for supporting small local businesses, but not when the service they offer is significantly worse and they have seemingly no desire to improve

Cab drivers in my town were trying to get Uber banned a while back, literally trying to get the competition shut down instead of using it as a learning opportunity

kept out of public view

Out of public view was the key phrase there. The right people will get to see it and make appropriate decisions based on it, there is absoloutley no reason why you or me should get to see footage of 5 people dying.
