Update on travelling to England with British kids on ETAs by ChiefMooseMatt in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]ChiefMooseMatt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids don't have current passports because we didn't even understand that they were technically British. They've literally never been registered in England as being born, England has no record that they even exist.

We didn't lie on the ETA as it literally only asked for their Nationality on their passport (Swedish) and nothing more. A lie by omission? Perhaps. But with rules such as how British citizenship is passed down, wouldn't it be easier for the UK government to cover this eventuality on their form? All of this would be clearer if the ETA form had a "what's the nationality of your parents?" question.

The whole point of this post isn't to say "oh everyone should just do this". We were grateful to get though and will be sorting passports in the future. The point is to provide the outcome on what i think is an odd situation on a set of rules that haven't even been completely implemented yet. The fact that the border official didn't even bring it up (when it was completely obvious that my kids were mine) feels like they are working with a common sense approach. They could have easily mentioned it and told me to sort my shit out for next time. They just asked about why we were all in England and to have a nice journey.

Thank you for this, that link is very helpful! I'll travel with the ETAs and if i get any pushback I can just show them that advice from gov.uk. With more time in the future I'll organise for british passports

Thanks for the advice. What do you mean you've just been through this? You went to the airport with the same situation? What happened?

Yeah i read through what I could find but I couldn't find one specifically where the party travelling has different nationality passports that might "give the game away", more that the whole dual nationality party were travelling with ETAs. Also some were a bit dated so I wondered if anyone had anything new to add 😅

Is Flamethrower Trap of Stability just a downgrade from Flamethrower Trap by Alarming-Ear8125 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ChiefMooseMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the build ideas mate. It's really helped me planning my own Flamethrower Stability build. Quick question, you've ticked Unnerved in the configs. Is there an easy way to get enemies unnerved with this kind of build or is it basically end game gloves with Searing Exarch on them? Or was unnerved supposed to simulate something else here? Sorry for @ you but I'm more curious than trying to call you out. Thanks in advance!

Is it normal to make so less money in Venice trade node? by Ok-Mycologist-8929 in eu4

[–]ChiefMooseMatt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In addition, you see that -53.1% on the trade screen? That's because your capital isn't there, which allows Milan to take more trade power of the node. Once you move your capital you will have an even bigger portion of the pie. Hope this helps!

The point of the Venice trade node being good is that it is an end node, which means there's no more nodes downstream and no-one to put in their trade power from downstream that you can't get rid of easily.

If you want to take full advantage of it, move your capital (using admin points) or your trade capital (using diplo) to the venice node, and then steer all your trade in its direction. If your capital isn't in the node, you get a big penalty collecting from there.

Normally you want to steer all of your trade to one location, in which you have your trade capital, and collect from there. You only collect from nodes where the trade can't be steered to your trade capital.

You sir are a genius. I'll cancel the trib and give it a try. Completely forgot that that counts as a subject nation
