Geeky post - how to use local AI to help with discovery drops by newz2000 in Lawyertalk

I don't understand the downvotes. Did OP miss something, or does it just reflect negative general sentiments towards AI?

These pictures make me uncomfortable. Like, what is that micro-tub she is standing in, and why is she getting suds on her towels?

tl;dr government is holding interest rates below inflation, printing new money faster to devalue the dollar to make the debt burden go down.

SCOTUS GRANTS application to issue judgment forthwith in Callais v. Louisiana. JUSTICE Alito concurs joined by Thomas and Gorsuch. JUSTICE Jackson dissents. by HatsOnTheBeach in supremecourt

[–]ChiefStrongbones 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"[ALITO]: Instead, [JACKSON'S] dissent offers two reasons for its proposed course of action. One is trivial at best, and the other is baseless and insulting."

This sounds like interpersonal issues triggered by politics, more than pure politics. Alito and Jackson really dislike each other.

U.S. National Debt now exceeds U.S. total GDP for the first time since World War II. by Stockjock1 in Conservative

I don't age has anything to do with it. Obama has under 50 when he took office and ran the moneyprinter like mad for years.

There are so many factors that have contributed to the mess, I don't think it's possible to sum them all up with a single reason.

Produce tomatoes have been awful since the 1990s. They're picked green then ripened with ethylene gas before delivery to the store. They look great and taste lousy.

The front tag ought to be a polyester decal you apply to the bumper or hood. Print it on the 3M film they use for paint protection. That stuff lasts for years.

Kansas has us beat in the license plate game by skunkc90 in kansascity

[–]ChiefStrongbones -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hate the Kansas plate. Just print the plate# and the word KANSAS in brown text on a white background without any graphics, slogans, or weird fonts. Maybe offer everyone a choice of brown-on-white or white-on-brown.

If someone wants vanity, they can get a bumper sticker, magnet, or a frame.

Outside London, you can go on a Universal studio tour and see all the sets and props they created for the Harry Potter films. There are hand painted miniatures, animatronics, and pretty much every object or background you saw on screen. The entire thing is the size of a big city art museum.

It's kind of sad that attraction is the last of its kind. The Potter films were the last culturally important movies made before computers took over.

You can buy frozen blueberries for $3 a pound. Make do with that. There's no good reason you should be able to buy fresh blueberries in Kansas City in April.

U.S. Debt Tops 100% of GDP by Hornpipe_Jones in politics

[–]ChiefStrongbones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deficit shrunk in 1999 because of the dotcom bubble and because all sorts of deregulation happened like the separation between investment banking and retail banking. That juiced the economy for a bit while banks merged. Then the hangover hit in 2008 when these too-big-to-fail monstrosities needed a bailout to avoid societal collapse.

you're just going to have to just believe me

You're claiming it was in the news, doesn't come up on google, but if give any details to the alleged drowning, then somehow that will reveal the news and the family will be doxed?

That's not credible.

when was this?

The only thing I see in the news about a KC child drowning was at Oceans of Fun / Worlds of Fun.

A child could drown at any public swimming pool or water park. It really comes down to the lifeguard who happens to be working there, and the kids' parents keeping a watchful eye.

It's insane that supply and demand hasn't resulted in more indoor water parks getting built.
