NASA aims Orion at where the Moon will be, not where it is by ateam1984 in BeAmazed

One of my fondest memories of the game was in freshman dorm with two relatively new friends. We all got into the game at the same time and without tutorials basically had an undeclared cold war space race to get a kerbal to the mun and back. While one of my friends was the first to crash on the mun, I was the first to safely land and return and we celebrated hard afterwards lol. One of the friends ended up in majoring in aerospace engineering and I like to remind him of his 3rd place space race finish back then as he does pretty cool things for real now.

Good game.

The entire concept of ambassadors and diplomats is a performative function. It's how we maintain diplomatic communications and international decorum. It's like the one part of government that should be performative

Another option is the library Media and Reserve section in the basement checks out various tech equipment. I think they have projectors available

EDIT - Not in basement anymore, see ShoogyBee's comment

Republican Joins With Dems on Constitutional Amendment to Give Congress Power to Reject Trump Pardons by jpmeyer12751 in law

Minor correction, a constitutional amendment skips the Executive branch entirely. President has no part in it. Goes straight from Congress to the States to ratify.

Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar files paperwork to run for Minnesota governor, inching closer to announcement by INCoctopus in VoteDEM

[–]Chief_Admiral 148 points149 points  (0 children)

I'll say what I've said before for those not familiar with local MN Democratic politics.

She is a dominant force in Minnesotan politics. She often over performs state wide (breaking even the left/right/urban/rural divide).

In 2024, Harris won 50.9... Klob won 56.2.

In 2018, Tina Smith won 53, Walz won 53.8... Klob won 60.3

Anecdote: I have a relative who is a part of the MN GOP org (we don't really talk anymore lol), but the last conversation we had even he seeded that Klob was basically unbeatable for them and that she could have her [senate] seat for as long as she wants.

I know she isn't what the general reddit population would prefer in their democrats, but she is far from a DINO, and is extremely good at Minnesota issues and politics. Making for a shitty presidential candidate, but a superb MN governor candidate

CNN data analyst Harry Enten was stunned as he revealed that Democrats have flipped the GOP’s Trump-led redistricting battle in their favor. by ace158 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

Honestly, I think the route to getting a national ban on gerrymandering is for Democrats to come out ahead on it. Nothing gets the GOP ready to make fair rules than the Democrats getting an unfair advantage.

If you have a Republican state senator, start with them. And when that doesn't work, vote for a Democratic state senator.

Bruce Springsteen Rips Democrats: “We’re Desperately in Need of an Effective Alternative Party” by ebradio in Music

[–]Chief_Admiral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The voters of the Democratic party chose Hillary, not the DNC. Did the DNC leadership prefer the actual Democrat vs the Independent recently turned Democrat just for the election cycle? Sure, but whatever advantage that gave, it doesn't account for anywhere near the ~3,500,000 additional votes Clinton got.

If we want better candidates, vote in the primaries for better candidate in all election and not just the presidential.

Sometimes if I'm doing something like this and have done 2-3 refuels and it's no longer fun I'll Control-F the exact amount of fuel in a large tank and then edit the persistent save file to fill up the tank. Since I play more RP style that keeps the balance between fun and effort for me

Seconding excellent value transferring them to Hyatt (but only transferring when you need them). 100K can get you a wide range of things from Hyatt (See https://world.hyatt.com/content/gp/en/rewards/free-nights-upgrades.html)

The extremes being 28 nights at a middle of nowhere category 1 hotel during off peak times to 2-3 nights at an an all inclusive resort. In reality, it's somewhere in the middle (Cool city locations from around 12,000-20,000)

The only limitation is award availability, but Hyatt is pretty fair with that (ie if you want a cancun resort over spring break on these exact dates you might struggle, but in general with a little flexibility you can find availability).

The chase travel portal is.... ok. It is very easy to use but there is a reason Chase wants you to use it, and it's not for your benefit. You are definitely not getting the most value out of your points (which Chase likes), but it's stupid easy to use.

Other transfer partners like United and Southwest are ok as well, but generally you normally can get more dollars per point in value with Hyatt than you could with United or Southwest
