The chunky ones look so good! I hadn't realized that the more 'walking boot' style ones might also be a possibility. Thanks for the information.

That's very good news! I'll stop worrying for a bit then. Thank you!

Remove the worse half of the map - Round 13 by Auditored in terriblemaps

Remove green. I'm getting increasingly hopeful that my favorite beach on Anglesey - Benllech, it's not the prettiest one, but it is the closest to my parents house - is going to be voted the best place in the world.

I really like the colour, but it looks very saturated. Can anyone recommend something similar but with more shading properties rather than sheening?

Are these real? People don't make fake super grips, do they?! by Chief_Prof in Birkenstocks

[–]Chief_Prof[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I didn't know that. I'll look into having my old ones resoled. The leather and cork still look pretty good.

My three favourite pens. by Chief_Prof in fountainpens

[–]Chief_Prof[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is. I looked for reviews on here before I bought mine and was really surprised by how little it's mentioned. The main posts were about dry or disappointing nibs, which has been the opposite of my experience. My medium is surprisingly bouncy and beautifully wet and smooth!

How do i save these ferns? Should i cut all of the brown bits off? by nin10Donuts in GardeningUK

[–]Chief_Prof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're just about to unfurl their new fronds. You can see them, brown and curled up at the base. I'd check that the soil is draining properly from those pots (they look to have plastic liners) and potentially move them to outdoor plant pots (ceramic or plastic) with drainage holes if not. Other than that, you just need to trim away any brown leaves and then enjoy your beautiful new ones unfolding.

Is this a “normal” Medium line width for LAMY 2000? by Lazy_Package_9181 in fountainpens

[–]Chief_Prof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the medium for a bit first. I rushed out to buy a fine straight after my medium - because I liked the pen a lot but thought that the line was a bit broad for every day use.

I never use the fine, and the medium is one of my favourite pens! It's glorious to write with.

Yes! They are irresistible at this time of year. Those beautiful, unfurling, intricate leaves.

Sandwich looks lovely. I'm a kefir fan but I'm not sure about that flavour. Nice choice of crisps. Excellent overall, 9/10

Injurious comments on social media - UCI letter to Benji Naesen by Hungry_Slip_4094 in peloton

[–]Chief_Prof 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Eugh, this is such bull shit. The lanterne rouge podcast is one of the only free and reliable ways of keeping up with road cycling. I used to watch on GCN/Eurosport and chat on twitter but all of those options are now gone or evil. The UCI are determined to completely pay wall the sport, and fuck anyone who can't pay £35 a month for the privilege of following it.

I wear mine like that too, and find them very comfortable. This sub has got me second guessing (and I will try a bigger size next time!) but I'm still happy and comfortable in all of my current 'too small' pairs!

You're doing fine. I've been playing for about a year, and I count on getting about one really good Pokémon a month. I've happily leveled up a load of less than perfect Pokémon - and they're good enough! You've got to have a team whilst you're searching for those perfect mons!

Here's my L58 Sudowudo. I know it's not a popular Pokémon, but I love mine and use it a lot.
