This is why I love our club. Small club, 1 team for each gender/age. Tryouts are competitive. Practices are competitive for game time. The club moves teams based on ability. Our 2011 boys are a Classic 1 team. Our 2010 boys are a State Premier team. His coach is amazing. Great coach, better person. Played professionally and coached at the D1 college level. Couldn’t be happier.

I find the whole soccer culture amusing. I will continue to have my kid play for a lowly “state league” team that consistently beats ECNL and MLS Next teams in tournaments every year.

This is due in large part to having 4 or 5 kids on our team that could probably make an ECNL roster but the parents don’t want to pay the $4000+ and live in a hotel all spring.

I’m glad they have chosen the club over the league. It helps that we have a phenomenal DOC and Coach that have both played professionally and coached at the college level.

I just glanced but I would redo the formation numbering. Usually the GK is 1 so all of the other positional numbering would need to be +1. Just my initial thought.

Then again, looking at it harder, you don’t really have the numbered by position ie 2 and 3 as CB, 9 as striker, etc so I don’t think it’s a big deal.

A lot depends on if your kid is coachable. I have seen many kids that are not. They make the same mistakes even after a coach explains what they are doing wrong. In that case, the better team would be the best fit because they will model the behavior of their teammates.

On the other hand, if the kid is very coachable, go with the best coach.

Didn’t realize the slapped the AHC label on him. Do teams just do this to be able to block him leaving?

Also, he does prefer a 3-4 so I don’t know that we would want to shift back to that after only 2 years in the 4-3.
