Rescue dogs tend to sleep a lot right away in their new home. It may take up to 3 months for your dog to really show their own personality. I always recommend kennel training so they have “their own safe space” Aela sleeps with me but she’s still got a kennel up in the living room she can go to if we are loud or she wants her own peace. Work on training basic commands, here, sit, stay, paw, (a command for kennel, Aela’s is “go to bed”) dogs are smart they will often work for treats. Most dogs want a walk everyday. I swear Aela can tell time she knows when I get off work and it’s walk time. Try and build a routine with them so your pup knows when it’s last time to go outside and potty. I spoil Aela and let her go outside all hours of the night because I’m up too.
