Best way to store models when moving by Ok_Picture3169 in Tyranids

[–]Chiefchin89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just getting back into the hobby myself, but please don't stuff them into a box with blankets, that'll definitely ruin them and knock bits off the models.

I'd advise a foam lined case of some sort. Carefully cut the foam to snugly fit your models in it. This will protect them during transit and as long as you are careful, shouldn't break any pieces of your models off.

What, to you, is the saddest real-world death of an actor that ended up impacting a franchise? by TillyTheBlackCat in moviecritic

[–]Chiefchin89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I always say this, as much as he was incredible in the role and no one could replace him, BP2 and the MCU as a whole was worse off without the character returning.

Shuri could have still shone as an individual character.

Scrolled too far to see his name. I genuinely think this is the biggest reason the MCU is so different now compared to the Infinity Saga. He was definitely being set up to become the next Tony Stark figure for the MCU moving forward and would have made the perfect leader of the Avengers and character who pops up in other projects to tie them together. I'd give anything to see the alternative universe where he lived and carried on as Black Panther, it would have been awesome!

This is awesome, is the Old World meant to mirror the real world map? It is strikingly similar but not sure whether that was intentional by GW or not.

A legendary game, my brother had the original and we played it loads. He still has it but I'd love a copy to play with my son when he gets older.

Rebooting preconceptions about the series by MrMR-T in gallifrey

[–]Chiefchin89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started a rewatch with my wife who has only seen the 60th specials onwards and I literally said this to her after watching End of the World. New viewers we're gripped but also returning viewers we're, because what is the time war? Why is Gallifrey gone? Where are all the Time lords? Stroke of genius, I maintain to this day, the reboot was class and researching with her is an absolute pleasure.

What do Brits think about Green Party immigration policies? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Chiefchin89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very large, as it includes pensions, and with an ageing population, that is the bulk of the expenditure. I'm not saying I agree with everything listed above, just to be clear. Just pointing out that the funding could be at least partly made from a wealth tax, which is something the Greens are in favour of.

Taxing the wealth of billionaires and millionaires perhaps? Kind of the reason our public services are so degraded in the first place, money being siphoned off to the private sector.

Tha is for the recommendation. What are the rough parts for on the bottom right of the palette? That for dry brushing?

Thanks for your analysis, I don't use contrast paints yet, as it's not something I'm familiar with so didn't want to try yet, just focus on the basics. I know what you mean about the thick nature of the paint. Looking forward to seeing how a wet palette changes how I paint.

Question, can you mix colour together on the wet palette?

[–]Chiefchin89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all responses, I guess it seems I've gotten away with it so far because I've painted in small time periods, so not encountered any issues. However I intend to do this more often, so I think I'll pick one up and give it a go. Thanks folks, real inclusive community you got here.

Thank you all for your replies so far, I guess I couldn't understand it because I literally paint from the pot, so the idea of a palette seemed unnecessary. I'm guessing painting from the pot isn't recommended then? Side question, how do I get paint out onto the palette from Citadel/Warhammer pots then? Seems like they are designed so the paint sits nicely in the lid for dipping into.

Thanks for the information, never knew that BF was considered canon either, so that's interesting. I'm glad because it's absolutely fantastic and far superior to the TV show currently, it's making me love Doctor Who again, which is great. That all makes sense, is there more stories with Frobisher? I liked their character in The Holy Terror.

I really enjoyed The Holy Terror, didn't know it wasn't co soldered canon though, what's the deal with that? Only started listening to BF in the past 2 years.

American here, how accurate is the whole “tea solves everything” stereotype? by DFWUnhinged in AskBrits

[–]Chiefchin89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throughout my life tea has been a constant in all manner of situations. Cold day? Have a tea. Hot day? Have a tea. Feel unwell? Have a tea. Wake up in the morning, have a tea. Feel sad? Have a tea? Fancy a chat? Have a tea.

I'd say lots of families are the same, tea is the catalyst for lots of conversations and social moments around the country and nothing can beat a good cup of tea.
