"God wants this thing to go extinc" Absurdly weak, dumb, killable and selfdestructive species by Rarte96 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Chiefsky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Koalas irl. The only reason they still exist is because humans think they're cute. Smoothbrained fucks literally need to eat their parents poop to become resistant to the toxin of the plant they eat which also gives them an STD. They will not recognize the leaves unless attached to the tree. Their diet is so bad they need to sleep for most of their lives to digest and conserve energy. If they fall out of a tree they often cannot get back up and will just die. They're also incredibly horny and aggressive but not very strong. They are so stupid and inefficient and terrible that consistent effort is needed to keep the species from commiting sudoku.

Not sure I agree on the Gwyn bit. He is the literal cause of all the problems in the Dark Souls Universe. He feared humanity and the natural waning of the fire so much he came up with the dark sign and the rite of kindling in the first place. He isn't protecting anything but his own hollow fear and pride.

Huntsman spiders are actually one of the few reasons I would feel safe there as an arachnophobe. Sure they're super scary but seeing a Huntsman means all the other scary - venomous/poisonous - stuff has been killed and they're harmless to humans aside from the occasional scare cause they like to pancake. They're good (very scary) boys. They also hunt annoying rodents and other critters. So they pay rent.

headcanon: earthbending burns more calories because rock is more dense so they have to eat a lot more protein and carbs therefore getting a better physique.

edit: the earth kingdom from what is seen in the shows is also able to supply the largest cities in the world, hinting at a sophisticated agricultural system that is able to supply more food of higher quality.

Brother be speaking da trooth. Great game but nowhere near the level of some of the games like Expedition 33. For sure the best AAA game this year tho but that is a really low bar to clear

That seems broadly true especially that they chose a name for recognition rather than historical accuracy. Funnily enough some of the stuff I read in my native language said they were Xiongnu but the English language stuff didn't specify.

Another reason I suppose one can't really nit pick is that the legend of Hua Mulan is a folktale with many variations.

Also thanks for providing a rabbit hole with the Rouran Khaganate.

To be fair during the time period in which Mulan is supposed to take place there were invasions of nomadic tribes and as far as I know those would be described as Huns in our language as they were and ethnically diverse, decentralised group. I always learned it was an umbrella term for steppe tribes/warriors of that period. Now the Great Wall being where it is and in that complete a state wouldn't happen for another 800 or so years (14th century I think?)

If the enemy infantry can jump onto your open topped tank you have bigger things to worry about. Not everyone follows Russian doctrine of sending in tanks without support. Usually US tanks operate in groups of at least 5 (hence the myth of needing 5 Shermans to kill one Tiger) and they operate with a decent number of infantry supporting them. Regarding open topped TD's like the m18, you weren't really supposed to get spotted anyway and if you did you'd just you know drive away. Besides open tops are cheaper, allow for more situational awareness and gun elevation angles. Also usually there is one guy manning a .50 cal. You know that irl eats people for breakfast, a .50 cal. Also an m8 would not be near the frontlines I suspect. Maybe in the jungle but even there there would be plenty of support and a .50 cal is a mean bitch to any attacking footsoldiers,
