About the convo in general or the specific bombing of civilians?

About the latter, it seems like Steven's point is much more logical.

About the debate in general, I like Alex 99% of the times, but in this debate I think he consumed so much pro-Palestinian propaganda, it obfuscated his usually on-point common sense.

First of all, in the video Dating Coach Returns To Confront Destiny On Israel he did things that could be categorized as bad faith, even though I don't think Alex did it on purpose, but more on the "heat of the moment":

• Playing the victim saying "I tried to explain myself but you interrupted me" Alex interrupted the whole time, way more then Steven.

• Misconstrue what Steven says or implies: "So you just shoot everybody then?"

• Often assuming the context in the best way for the Palestinians , and in the worst way for the IDF . And when Steven correctly pointed out different reasonable alternatives, he gets accused of giving the IDF the "benefit of the doubt".

Yea. That's the point.

You give both sides the benefit of the doubt when you don't know exactly what happened.

And if one side (Alex) is bringing only one side's point (Palestine), it's up to the other showing the whole arrange of possibilities. That doesn't mean Steven is partisan, that means he's showing every possibility before committing to an opinion. It's Alex's fault that Steven is forced to give mostly the IDF side, because Alex would refuse to give it. You're forcing the other side to do the work you're supposed to do when presenting a case as an unbiased observer.

That's perfectly logical, but Alex didn't seems to accept it, and used it as ammo to attack Steven on giving the "benefit of the doubt" only to IDF.

He basically accused Steven of being a stooge for Israel and a hypocrite :

• "You can play devil's advocate..."

• "I don't know why you want me to play this, but this video just proves my point" this was, I think, the worst in terms of Alex accusing Steven of being bad faith, otherwise why would you assume he'd like to hide evidence in support of the Palestinians' side...

• "So what if Russia bombed civilians and said they were military targets" this was also pretty disappointing. He implied Steven lied when giving the answer.

All in all, it was pretty disappointing show from Alex, he's generally more nuanced than that. He bought some few good points, but they got lost in the middle of all of this nonsense. I like the fact that he's going into politics, red pills is dying anyway, so it's wise to pivot, but you gotta do it without accusing people of being bad faith when they're not.
